Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has recently been calling for a featherweight title shot. UFC President Dana White isn’t interested. Cejudo, who previously held the UFC bantamweight and featherweight straps, retired last month after a TKO victory over Dominick Cruz.

UFC President Dana White has defended Max Rohskopf’s decision to give up during his debut at UFC on ESPN 11. The lightweight newcomer made his first Octagon appearance on 20 June against Austin Hubbard. The fight didn’t go according to plan for Rohskopf as he came out fast but failed to secure any submission attempts. His opponent used a barrage of strikes to push forward which resulted in Rohskopf heading back to his corner with blood streaming down his face. The 25-year old told his team he could not continue, but his chief cornerman Robert Drysdale tried to convince him otherwise. Rohskopf stuck to his guns and the referee Mark Smith ultimately waved the fight off. Austin Hubbard walked away with the second-round TKO win by retirement.

Former UFC light heavyweight Robert Drysdale released a video statement following the controversial stoppage in the Max Rohskopf fight at UFC on ESPN 11. Drysdale came under heavy criticism from fans and media after he wouldn’t stop the fight between Rohskopf and Austin Hubbard, which kicked off Saturday’s event. After a competitive first round, Rohskopf — who took the fight on extremely short notice — began to tire badly in the second round and started to get teed off on by Hubbard. Instead of going out for the third round, Rohskopf decided to retire on the stood instead. However, Drysdale tried his absolute best to change his fighter’s mind before the TKO stoppage.

Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury is rumored to be a playable character in the new EA UFC 4 video game that is expected to be released later this year. Forbes was the first to report that Fury would appear in EA UFC 4, which is expected to be released for PS4 and Xbox One. It is also expected to be part of the library for the new PS5 and Xbox Series X systems that are set to be released later this year. The UFC is set to be revealing more details about the latest video game when it heads to Fight Island in July.

Despite an 8-3 record in the UFC and a three-fight win streak, Muhammad is not ranked in the top-15. The welterweight spoke at the UFC on ESPN 11 post-fight press conference following his decision win over Lyman Good and explained why the UFC rankings should be abolished.

UFC welterweight superstar Jorge Masvidal unleashed a verbal attack on manager Ali Abdelaziz after he criticized Masvidal for his contract situation. Masvidal is currently holding out for a new contract with the UFC after picking up three straight stoppage wins over Nate Diaz, Ben Askren, and Darren Till. Masvidal was set to fight UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 251, but he stuck to his guns and refused to sign what he said was a below-market value deal. The UFC then pivoted and gave No. 1 contender Gilbert Burns the fight against Usman.

UFC welterweight Lyman Good issued an emotional statement following a decision loss to Belal Muhammad at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 11 card in Las Vegas. Good and Muhammad put on a show for the fans as both men went back-and-forth for three hard-fought rounds, though Muhammad eventually emerged as the winner via unanimous decision. Up until Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos stole the show in the co-main event, Good and Muhammad were in the running for “Fight of the Night.”

UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker blasted Max Rohskopf for quitting in his fight against Austin Hubbard at Saturday night’s UFC on ESPN 11 card in Vegas. Rohskopf called for a rare self-stoppage after the second round of his fight against Hubbard, which was also Rohskopf’s UFC debut and a fight the newcomer took on just five days’ notice. The young fighter was seen in his corner telling his coach Robert Drysdale nine times that he wanted to stop the fight, but his corner continued to try and encourage him to fight. Ultimately, the fight was waved off due to TKO (retirement) on the advice of the doctor in a stoppage that left fans, media, and fighters divided.

UFC president Dana White criticized heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes for his performance during his victory over Alexander Volkov at UFC on ESPN 11. Blaydes was able to win a unanimous decision with scores of 49-46, 48-47 and 48-46 over Volkov as he used his wrestling to take his opponent down at will and control him on the mat. However, Blaydes was not able to get the finish despite having so much top control time on the mat, and not only that but he looked exhausted in the last two rounds. Despite some scares late in the fight, he was still able to get his hand raised.

Robert Drysdale, the lead cornermen for UFC lightweight newcomer Max Rohskopf, explained his decision to ignore his fighter’s call to stop the fight. Drysdale, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and a former light heavyweight in the UFC, was Rohskopf’s lead corner for his UFC debut fight against Austin Hubbard at UFC on ESPN 11. Rohskopf was a perfect 5-0 on the regional scene with all five of his wins coming by way of submission, and he was the betting favorite coming into the fight with the three-fight UFC vet Hubbard despite taking the bout on just five days’ notice.

UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the promotion’s Irish superstar Conor McGregor has retired from mixed martial arts. Following UFC 250 two weeks ago, McGregor took to social media to surprisingly announce his retirement from mixed martial arts. He later cited boredom as one of the reasons he stepped away from the sport, plus not being able to fight for the UFC lightweight title anytime soon with champion Khabib Nurmagomdov and interim champ Justin Gaethje having to unify the belt before McGregor could get another shot at it.
