McGregor had released his current “GOAT rankings” earlier this afternoon, where he listed former middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva as the reigning title holder. However, to the surprise of many, Conor had himself positioned in the number two spot, ahead of longtime champions Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones.

Conor McGregor revealed his current MMA GOAT rankings earlier today, which spawned heated reactions from Nate Diaz, Jon Jones, among others. Both Jones and Diaz reacted negatively to McGregor’s assessment of the current MMA GOAT landscape. ‘Bones’ took the opportunity to remind the Irishman that he is no longer a UFC champion and thus had no right to be ranked above him in the standings.

McGregor and Diaz are tied 1-1 across two fights, both of which occurred in 2016. Diaz won the first fight, springing the upset with a submission win. McGregor evened the score in the rematch, defeating Diaz by majority decision. Ever since, fans have been dying to see the pair meet in a tie-breaking trilogy fight.

The veracity of this story was immediately called into question by Diaz’s team, who denied it outright and pointed out that Diaz has not been in Miami for over a week.
