Belal Muhammad revealed he was supposed to headline UFC London against Khamzat Chimaev. After Muhammad beat Stephen Thompson by decision in December he began to call out Chimaev. He was vocal about wanting to get that fight and shortly after, his manager, Ali Abdelaziz called him to say he would be headling UFC London on March 19 against Chimaev.

Henry Cejudo has said he’d be open to training Khamzat Chimaev for a fight against Israel Adesanya, but not Kamaru Usman. In his post-retirement career, Henry Cejudo has been busy splitting his time between hosting podcasts and training some of his fellow UFC fighters. The former two-weight champion may still return to the Octagon one day but for the time being, he seems to be pretty satisfied with where he’s at.

Khamzat Chimaev has compared his early success in the Octagon to some UFC legends. The unbeaten Swede is coming off a sensational victory over Li Jingliang at UFC 267. The win was his fourth straight in the Octagon, defeating his foe via first-round submission (see that here). Along with the win, he improved on an already wild record that he’s established.

Usman (20-1 MMA), the UFC’s reigning welterweight champion, has made it clear that he wants to box Canelo in the fall of 2022. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is slated to fight Leon Edwards in the Octagon for a second time this July, but then wants to take his talents to the squared circle.

Khamzat Chimaev (10-0 MMA) is coming off a first round victory over Li Jingliang (18-7 MMA) at UFC 267 back in October 2021. Prior to that, Khamzat scored a sensational 18-second knockout win over Gerald Meerschaert (34-14 MMA) in September of 2020.

A blossoming friendship that seems to be emerging within the UFC sphere as of late is the one shared between Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev. After going back and forth with one another over social media, and even sharing a bizarre Instagram Live session, Till has opted to head over to Sweden and train with “Borz”. It seems as if there’s some real progress being made and while “The Gorilla” still has a lot of work left to do before becoming an elite middleweight, he’s in the right place to help him grow.
