UFC lightweight Gregor Gillespie says that his knockout defeat to Kevin Lee was easier to accept than if he’d have lost via decision. Gillespie is set to get back into the Octagon this weekend at UFC Vegas 22 when he takes on fellow rising contender Brad Riddell. When he does, it’ll be the first time since UFC 244 that he’s fought, a card that took place in November 2019.

Kevin Lee believes that UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov should make the decision to vacate his title and walk away from MMA. Lee is one of the top-15 lightweights in the world and is one of the fighters striving to hold the belt that Nurmagomedov currently wears around his waist. However, with “The Eagle” openly talking about retiring, Lee wants him to give up his title and let the rest of the division be able to fight for it again. Speaking to SCMP MMA, Lee said he hopes the UFC lets Nurmagomedov retire in peace and encouraged him to give up his belt.

UFC lightweight contender Kevin Lee says he wants to run it back with Tony Ferguson when he returns to the Octagon later this year. Lee has not competed since last March when he was submitted by Charles Oliveira in the main event of the last UFC card before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. He had double surgery after the fight, and after missing a full year of action, he’s ready to return to the Octagon in the coming months. And when he makes his return, he wants to rematch Ferguson.

Oliveira is currently riding an eight-fight win streak which is second in the UFC lightweight division behind only champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. With the champ likely set to retire and vacate his belt any day now, there has been much talk about who would be the two fighters in a vacant title fight. While originally it seemed like Oliveira vs. Dustin Poirier was the fight to make, in recent days it feels like Oliveira has somehow become an afterthought at 155lbs despite his incredible dominance.

UFC president Dana White announced on Thursday that his organization signed the former Bellator lightweight champion Chandler to a free agent contract and he will be the official backup for the UFC 254 lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Michael Chandler. It was massive news that got the entire MMA world talking, particularly about the part seeing Chandler potentially getting a title shot.

UFC lightweight contender Kevin Lee says he’ll help Georges St-Pierre prepare for a potential fight with the lightweight division’s reigning champ, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib Nurmagomedov is scheduled to defend his lightweight title against the division’s interim titleholder, Justin Gaethje, on October 24. If he gets past that massive challenge, the expectation is that he could take on St-Pierre, the former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion, as he looks to improve his professional record to an absurd 30-0.

Lee fought nearly two months ago at the last UFC event when he was tapped out by Oliveira in their headliner in Brasilia. Lee said after the fight that he was unsure when he would like to fight again after a disappointing performance following his insane head kick KO win over Gregor Gillespie back at UFC 244.

Kevin Lee did indeed tear his ACL and will be out a minimum of six months. Nearly two weeks ago, Lee came out and revealed he hurt his knee. Yet, he said he wasn’t sure how long he would be out.

One of the more interesting moments came at the end of the main event, which pitted lightweight contenders Charles Oliveira and Kevin Lee against each other.
