Full betting odds released for UFC on ESPN+ 40: Santos vs. Teixeira

The full betting odds have been released for the 12 fights scheduled to take place at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 40: Santos vs. Teixeira event. The main event sees two of the top-five light heavyweights in the UFC go at it when Thiago Santos fights Glover Teixeira. Santos has not fought since July 2019, when he lost a close split decision to former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 239. He has missed the last 16 months due to injuries. As for Teixeira, despite being 41 years old, he’s looking better than ever, winning four straight including a vicious TKO victory over Anthony Smith back at UFC Jacksonville in May.

Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira booked for third time to headline November Fight Night card

The UFC is hoping the third time is the charm for Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira. Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira were first set to headline a Fight Night card on Sept. 12 yet Teixeira tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was moved to Oct. 3. Unfortunately, Santos tested positive for COVID-19 leaving the fight to be re-booked to headline a Nov. 7 Fight Night card according to ESPN.

UFC light heavyweight contender Thiago Santos has provided an update to fans after he contracted COVID-19. Santos was set to square off with Glover Teixeira in a vital showdown between two of the division’s top stars on October 3, but due to “Marreta” testing positive for Coronavirus, that date will no longer be possible. It comes just over a month after Teixeira himself tested positive for the virus.

UFC light heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira tested positive for COVID-19, and the UFC has rescheduled his upcoming fight against Thiago Santos. Combate reported that Teixeira tested positive for the coronavirus. He was set to meet Santos in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card scheduled to take place on September 12 in Las Vegas. However, that fight has now been rescheduled to the October 3 card that is headlined by women’s bantamweight contenders Holly Holm and Irene Aldana. The main event of the September 12 card is undetermined at this time, per Combate.

The 40-year-old Brazilian Teixeira absolutely pulverized Smith for nearly five rounds in one of the most lopsided beatdowns in recent memory. The referee and corner of Smith refused to stop the fight until late in the fifth round despite Smith admitting after the fourth round that he had lost two of his teeth during the match. The refusal to stop the fight after Smith said he lost his teeth led to fans and media criticizing the ref for not calling a TKO sooner and Smith’s coach Marc Montoya for not throwing in the towel.
