UFC President Dana White is over the moon when it comes to Jailton Almeida’s potential. Almeida was in the main event of UFC on ABC 4 this past Saturday (May 13). He took on Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who was the number-nine-ranked UFC heavyweight. Almeida sat at the number 12 spot, but he will earn his place in the top 10 following his victory over “Bigi Boy.” Almeida scored a first-round submission finish via rear-naked choke to earn his 14th win in a row.

UFC President Dana White doesn’t think Johnny Walker had a standout performance at UFC Charlotte. Walker shared the Octagon with Anthony Smith in the co-main event of the fourth UFC on ABC card. This one went the distance and Walker was awarded the unanimous decision victory. It was a showing that didn’t have White on the edge of his seat.

UFC president Dana White has reacted to the passing of Shalie Lipp. The 21-year-old was an aspiring prospect that had accumulated a 3-2 amateur record to this stage in her career. Lipp recently returned from a trip to Thailand, where she trained to prepare for her return. The young prospect was slated to face Natalie Gage at No Mercy 11 on May 20th.

Dana White has revealed that former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler’s career is coming to a close. ‘Ruthless’ has been out of the octagon since his clash against Bryan Barberena at UFC 276 last July. Lawler entered the contest off a stoppage win over Nick Diaz, which was his first victory in four years. However, ‘Bam Bam’ wound up halting the former champion’s momentum, scoring a second-round knockout victory.

This welterweight tilt served as the co-main event and had title implications. Going into the fight, Burns told reporters that both he and Muhammad were guaranteed that the winner of this fight would receive a UFC Welterweight Championship opportunity after Leon Edwards vs. Colby Covington.

Dana White has revealed there will be a backup fighter for the UFC 289 main event between Amanda Nunes and Irene Aldana. On Tuesday, White revealed that Pena was out of the UFC 289 main event against Nunes and Aldana has stepped in on short notice. Aldana, meanwhile, was supposed to headline the May 20 event against Raquel Pennington, so with that fight off, White revealed Pennington will be the backup fighter for June’s title bout.

Dana White took to social media and announced several key fights for a number of upcoming UFC events. White took to Instagram Live to reveal some key fights and among them was Gilbert Burns vs. Belal Muhammad, which is slated for five rounds as the new co-main event of UFC 288 on May 6. Jones recently got fight fans buzzing on social media when he teased having a retirement fight against Miocic inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. UFC President Dana White was none too pleased about Clay Guida faking his retirement following a unanimous decision loss to Rafa Garcia. Guida hung in tough during his UFC Kansas City showdown with Garcia. Ultimately, “The Carpenter” was being timed with ease and had no answer for his opponent’s jab. Garcia earned the unanimous decision victory and after the fight, Guida took off his gloves, suggesting that he was ready to announce his retirement. Even Garcia appeared to be emotional as he showed respect to Guida.
