Leading MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas of MMAOddsbreaker.com was a guest on a special breaking news edition of “The MMAOB Daily Podcast with Adam Martin” on Thursday and released the opening odds for McGregor vs. Cerrone.

The UFC’s official website indicates that UFC 246 will take place on February 8 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, leaving Conor McGregor’s return up in the air. It was assumed for the last few months that UFC 246 would be the name of the January 18 pay-per-view in Las Vegas that was to feature the superstar McGregor’s return to the Octagon. Although the promotion hasn’t officially announced his return date or opponent yet, McGregor’s manager Audie Attar recently confirmed that they were deep into negotiations for a fight with Donald Cerrone. But nothing has been booked so far.

Ever since Conor McGregor lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 he has been clamoring for a rematch. Yet, if it is up to the Dagestani champion, the Irishman won’t be getting one, ever. Nurmagomedov has come out and said McGregor needs 10 wins before he gets a rematch. But, when asked about a fight in Moscow, the champion shut it down and believes the Irishman doesn’t even want the fight.

McGregor took to Instagram to announce that due to the incredible sales for his Irish whiskey, he will donate over seven figures to the first responders who help keep the rest of us safe from harm. Jorge Masvidal is now the owner of the UFC’s BMF title, and he could very well be fighting for the welterweight title in his next fight. Yet Dan Lambert, the owner of American Top Team, is hoping for something else for “Gamebred” next. Lambert and the team at ATT know Masvidal wants the biggest payday so they are hoping a Conor McGregor fight can come to fruition. If that fight doesn’t materialize, Lambert believes Nick Diaz makes the most sense for Masvidal.

While the details of his next fight are not finalized, all signs point to his battling the always entertaining Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Conor McGregor is planning to fight again on January 18, and with the opponent for his comeback still not confirmed, many fighters are doing what they can to earn this lucrative opportunity. Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is one of the latest to do so. Dos Anjos made his call for a fight with McGregor on Instagram, imploring UFC President Dana White and matchmaker Sean Shelby to give the Irishman a “real contender” in his return to the Octagon.

Kevin Lee returned to the win column in a big way at UFC 244, when he knocked Gregor Gillespie out cold with a head kick in the first round. The win snapped his two-fight losing streak and put him into the top-10 of the lightweight division. For Lee, the exact head kick was not planned, but after a few exchanges, he knew the opening was there but was hesitant to throw it due to an injury.

Former two-division champion Conor McGregor is obviously watching today’s UFC Moscow event, as he recently took to Twitter to slam Abubakar Nurmagomedov. Abubakar, who is the cousin of undefeated lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, suffered a first round submission loss to David Zawada on the preliminary card of today’s event in Moscow, Russia.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov says that rival Conor McGregor needs to win 10 more fights before he gives him a rematch. Speaking with reporters during a press conference in Moscow Friday ahead of the UFC Fight Night event there this Saturday, Nurmagomedov revealed that he is planning on returning to the Octagon in April. He wants to fight in Las Vegas, but will only do so if the Nevada State Athletic Commission apologizes to him for what happened at UFC 229. Otherwise, he expects to fight in New York.

Yet, TriStar head coach, Firas Zahabi believes that it is a very dangerous fight for the Irishman and a fight he would likely lose. Why he thinks Masvidal would beat McGregor is simple. He believes Masvidal’s size would be the difference and the former two-weight champion would need to connect early. If he doesn’t, the coach believes it would be a long night for McGregor.
