Although many believe this fight will be closer, McGregor doesn’t agree. He is expecting the rematch to be easy, but not as easy as a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov would be.

Jake and Logan have both competed several times in boxing, and all of their fights have been veritable blockbusters in terms of viewership and revenue. Jake most recently picked up a knockout win over former NBA star Nate Robinson on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. undercard, while Logan is gearing up for an exhibition fight with boxing legend and former McGregor foe Floyd Mayweather.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor says that he believes he is still the lightweight champion ahead of his return to the Octagon at UFC 257. Back at UFC 229 in October 2018, McGregor met Khabib Nurmagomedov in an attempt to win back the UFC lightweight title that was stripped of the Irishman due to inactivity. Nurmagomedov dominated the fight, knocking McGregor down on the feet and then thrashing him on the ground before finally locking in the fight-ending neck crank in the fourth round. After the fight was over, there was then the infamous brawl between Team Khabib and Team McGregor.

Entering 2020, McGregor had a plan of a three-fight season that started with Donald Cerrone and ended with the rematch with Nurmagomedov. However, due to a variety of reasons, it did not come to fruition. Now, it appears the rematch may never happen and McGregor says that is on Nurmagomedov.

He began his run with the promotion as a featherweight, where he defeated the likes of Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo en route to becoming the undisputed champion. He then made a brief visit to lightweight, where he collected a second title with a knockout win over Eddie Alvarez. Since then, he’s drifted between lightweight, welterweight and the boxing ring, where he famously took on Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

After the loss, the Hawaiian went on a 13-fight winning streak including winning and defending the featherweight title twice.
