UFC flyweight contender Cody Garbrandt called Brandon Moreno “a lamb being led to the slaughterhouse” against Deiveson Figueiredo. Garbrandt was actually supposed to be the one who fought Figueiredo at UFC 255 for the UFC flyweight title, but he injured his arm and then got sick with COVID-19. Instead, Figueiredo fought Alex Perez and he finished the challenger in the first round of their main event title fight in November. On the undercard of the same event, Brandon Moreno finished Brandon Royval and earned the next title shot against Figueiredo. The two will now clash in the main event of UFC 256 next weekend in Las Vegas.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt revealed his symptoms following a tough recent battle with COVID-19 and other injuries. Garbrandt was supposed to make his flyweight debut this weekend against Deiveson Figueiredo in the main event of UFC 255. However, the fan-favorite was forced to pull out of the fight due to tearing his bicep. Since then, we haven’t heard much from Garbrandt in regards to how he’s feeling and when he’s ready to return to the Octagon. But this weekend he finally broke his silence and explained what he’s still dealing with.

Cody Garbrandt was supposed to be fighting for the flyweight title this Saturday against Deiveson Figueiredo. Garbrandt announced a move down to 125-pounds and was immediately getting a title shot. However, he tore his bicep and was forced to withdraw from the bout and Alex Perez stepped in to face Figueiredo.

Garbrandt was expected to challenge Figueiredo for the flyweight title at UFC 255 this November. Unfortunately, news surfaced on Friday that he has been forced out of this contest, and replaced by Alex Perez, who was originally scheduled to fight Brandon Moreno on the same card.

Garbrandt, the former UFC bantamweight champion, has been getting into it with Figueiredo on social media lately so it was no surprise when he fired back following some pointed comments by Figueiredo’s manager Wallid Ismail.

In the main event of UFC 255, Figueiredo is looking for his first flyweight title defense when he battles Garbrandt. It is a very interesting fight and the first time Garbrandt will be fighting at flyweight in the UFC. The two have also been taking shots at one another and that continues to be the case as Figueiredo took to Instagram to tell Garbrandt he is dreaming of knocking his head off.

Ahead of his training camp for UFC 256 in November, UFC flyweight title contender Cody Garbrandt has tested positive for COVID-19. AG Fight first reported that Garbrandt tested positive for the coronavirus. The former UFC bantamweight champion reportedly tested positive earlier in the week for COVID-19 and he is currently in isolation as he waits for the results of his latest test. The report says that Garbrandt is feeling better but he did experience mild symptoms including a headache. However, the hope is he will be able to test negative and get back to training camp soon.

Cody Garbrandt took the time to mock Aljamain Sterling’s upcoming title shot against Petr Yan. “The Funkmaster” has been asking for a title shot for some time, especially following his first-round submission victory against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 250 in June. It brought his current win streak up to five, leaving many to assume he would be next in line for a shot at the title. Now, UFC president Dana White has finally granted his wishes after weeks of not committing to the matchup. At the UFC on ESPN 15 press conference, he said that Sterling is likely next in line to fight Yan.
