Luque (21-7-1 MMA) and Muhammad (20-3 MMA) originally collided at UFC 205 in November of 2016, with ‘The Silent Assassin’ emerging victorious by way of first round knockout.

Muhammad is set to headline UFC Vegas 51 in a welterweight rematch against Vicente Luque. The winner of the fight will likely be one win away from a title shot and Covington could be a potential opponent, yet for Muhammad, he doubts ‘Chaos’ actually will fight ranked opponents. Instead, he believes Covington only tries to face people on the way out or fighters in divisions below him.

The pros are actually lean towards the underdog in Muhammad in getting his hand raised.

The two fought back at UFC 205 where Luque won the fight in 79 seconds by KO. Since then, he has gone on an incredible run, but he hasn’t been the main event until now which he says is a dream come true.

Belal Muhammad revealed he was supposed to headline UFC London against Khamzat Chimaev. After Muhammad beat Stephen Thompson by decision in December he began to call out Chimaev. He was vocal about wanting to get that fight and shortly after, his manager, Ali Abdelaziz called him to say he would be headling UFC London on March 19 against Chimaev.

Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad will be running it back. Luque and Muhammad first met in 2016 and will now be fighting again five-and-a-half years later. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the two will headline a Fight Night card on April 16 which serves as a crucial fight for the welterweight division.

UFC welterweight fighter Belal Muhammad responds after Conor McGregor scoffed at his and Anthony Smith’s UFC analysis on the post-fight desk. In a since-deleted Tweet, McGregor could be heard laughing overtop of Smith and Muhammad giving their analysis of the UFC fights on the ESPN post-fight desk. McGregor then posted the video of him laughing to his social media, which caught the eye of Muhammad, who immediately took a shot at McGregor for his broken leg. UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad says he is open to fighting Khamzat Chimaev, who he says has impressed him during his UFC run. Muhammad is currently the No. 9 ranked welterweight in the UFC, and one spot below him at No. 10 is Chimaev, who has taken the UFC by storm through his first four fights in the promotion. Chimaev smashed three foes on Fight Island last year and then, after taking a year off due to health issues stemming from COVID-19, he returned at UFC 267 last month and he smashed Li Jingliang in his return to the sport. It was a phenomenal victory by Chimaev and it got everyone connected to the sport talking about him, including his fellow divisional rivals such as Muhammad, who noticed what Chimaev did.

Although Muhammad competes at welterweight he said Strickland isn’t a big middleweight and wants to beat him up as he “hates that piece of trash.” To no surprise, that did not sit well for the seventh-ranked middleweight.

UFC welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio is looking to score a fight with Belal Muhammad for his next Octagon appearance. Ponzinibbio (28-4 MMA) was last seen in action at June’s UFC Vegas 28 event, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Baeza. That win moved the Argentine back into the win column, as he had previously suffered a knockout loss to Li Jingliang back in January.
