The Octagon remains in Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 45 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Derrick Lewis vs. Chris Daukaus. Lewis (31-8 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since UFC 265, where he suffered a TKO loss to Ciryl Gane in a fight for the promotions interim heavyweight championship. Prior to that setback, ‘The Black Beast’ had put together back-to-back knockout wins over Aleksei Oleinik and Curtis Blaydes.

UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad mocked promotional superstar Conor McGregor in a hilarious troll job, saying “cue the Conor tweet.” McGregor recently ripped Muhammad and fellow UFC fighter Anthony Smith for their post-fight analysis during a UFC Fight Night event. Muhammad was obviously not pleased that McGregor had made some negative comments about him and he waited for the perfect opportunity to return fire and get the last laugh against someone who has trolled him.

UFC welterweight fighter Belal Muhammad responds after Conor McGregor scoffed at his and Anthony Smith’s UFC analysis on the post-fight desk. In a since-deleted Tweet, McGregor could be heard laughing overtop of Smith and Muhammad giving their analysis of the UFC fights on the ESPN post-fight desk. McGregor then posted the video of him laughing to his social media, which caught the eye of Muhammad, who immediately took a shot at McGregor for his broken leg. A matchup between two of the best UFC welterweights pitting Stephen Thompson vs. Belal Muhammad is set for an upcoming UFC Fight Night card. Thompson vs. Muhammad is set to take place at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card set for December 18 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The news of the fight was first reported by MMAjunkie.com. The card is headlined by heavyweights Chris Dauakus and Derrick Lewis, and this fight between Thompson vs. Muhammad will likely be part of the evening’s main card. There are several more notable matchups on this card such as Raphael Assuncao vs. Ricky Simon at 135 and Diego Ferreira vs. Mateusz Gamrot at 155.

The war of words between Sean Strickland and Belal Muhammad reached new heights today with the middleweight issuing a disturbing message. The pairs beef started shortly after news broke that Strickland’s slated UFC 268 opponent, former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, had to pullout of the November pay-per-view event due to injury.

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad responded after Sean Strickland threatened to “backhand” him the next time they cross paths. Strickland was set to fight former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, in a grudge match next month at UFC 268 in New York City, but the fight is not happening anymore after Rockhold pulled out with an injury. With Strickland now without an opponent, other fighters are now calling him out. For example, middleweight prospect Brendan Allen called out Strickland for a rematch, and Muhammad also offered to step up to 185lbs and fight him. However, Strickland shot down the Muhammad fight, saying that he would “backhand” him if they ever crossed paths again in person after the public callout.

Sean Strickland is not a fan of Belal Muhammad and he says he wants to smack him. After Luke Rockhold was forced out of his UFC 268 fight against Strickland, several fighters including Muhammad called him out. Although Muhammad competes at welterweight he said Strickland isn’t a big middleweight and wants to beat him up as he “hates that piece of trash.” To no surprise, that did not sit well for the seventh-ranked middleweight.

UFC welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio is looking to score a fight with Belal Muhammad for his next Octagon appearance. Ponzinibbio (28-4 MMA) was last seen in action at June’s UFC Vegas 28 event, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Baeza. That win moved the Argentine back into the win column, as he had previously suffered a knockout loss to Li Jingliang back in January.

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad says rival Leon Edwards “played it a little bit safe” against Nate Diaz and once again asked for the rematch. Muhammad and Edwards fought back in March to a No Contest after Edwards accidentally poked Muhammad in the eye early in the second round, rendering him unable to continue. As the Muhammad vs. Edwards fight was a replacement bout in its own right, the UFC decided not to match these two up again despite the inconclusive way the fight ended. Instead, the UFC booked Muhammad against Demian Maia at UFC 263 and Edwards against Nate Diaz on the same card, and both men would go onto win their fights that night.

Belal Muhammad hasn’t taken kindly to being called a “clown” by Leon Edwards after Muhammad asked for a rematch. The two men squared off earlier this year with an unfortunate eye poke bringing proceedings to an early end. Ever since then, Edwards has been able to get in the win column against Nate Diaz with Muhammad also picking up a win against Demian Maia.

Belal Muhammad ripped rival Leon Edwards for the Nate Diaz fight, saying that “you probably lost more fans than you gained in that one.” Muhammad is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Demian Maia at UFC 263, and Edwards defeated Diaz via decision on the same card. However, while Edwards got his hand raised in the fight, most people remember the fifth round where Diaz rocked Edwards badly. The Brit was able to hold on and survive, but it didn’t seem like the type of elite performance that will earn him a title shot, and that’s why Muhammad wants the rematch.

Belal Muhammad is not at all a fan of former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington. UFC President Dana White has let it be known that “Chaos” is next in line to rematch current champion, Kamaru Usman. After seeing Covington lose via fifth-round TKO in their December 2019 clash, Muhammad believes he should be next for Covington instead.

UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad praised the “legend” Demian Maia following his win at UFC 263, calling the Brazilian a “class act.” Muhammad won a unanimous decision over Maia on the main card of UFC 263 this past Saturday night in Glendale, Arizona. For Muhammad, this was arguably the biggest win of his career, and by taking out Maia, he will now be ranked in the top-10 of the UFC welterweight division. For Maia, however, this could have been the last time we saw him in the Octagon, as UFC president Dana White suggested later his time with the UFC is over.

Maia (28-10 MMA) will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since suffering a first-round TKO loss to Gilbert Burns in March of 2020. Prior to that setback, the Brazilian submission specialist had put together a three-fight win streak, which included stoppage victories over Ben Askren and Lyman Good.

In the first round, the Englishman had a ton of success and clearly won it. Yet, in the second Edwards poked Muhammad in the eye and the fight was ruled a No Contest.

UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad reacted after his upcoming fight against Demian Maia was recently announced for UFC 263. Muhammad vs. Maia was announced this weekend to take place on UFC 263, which is set for June 12. For Muhammad, it’s the next best thing after he wasn’t given a rematch with Leon Edwards after their fight ended in a No Contest due to an eye poke at a recent UFC Vegas event. Muhammad was stumping for the rematch given that the fight ended in a controversial fashion, but the promotion instead decided to book Edwards against Nate Diaz. That left Muhammad temporarily without an opponent, but Maia answered the call.
