Tyson Fury may be fighting Deontay Wilder instead of Anthony Joshua next time out. After Fury TKO’d Wilder in February of 2020 in their highly anticipated rematch, many fans wanted to see the Anthony Joshua fight. It would unify the heavyweight division and prove who is the best heavyweight. However, Wilder was campaigning for the trilogy, but recently, talks between Fury and Joshua seemed to progress.

Anthony Joshua has shared a very promising update on a proposed heavyweight title fight with fellow Englishman Tyson Fury. Joshua and Fury currently stand atop the heavyweight boxing landscape, as Joshua holds  the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles, and Fury holds the WBC title and is the lineal heavyweight champ.

Tyson Fury sent a message to Anthony Joshua shortly after the Watford native scored a knockout win over Kubrat Pulev this evening. Joshua (24-1) squared off with Pulev (28-2) tonight at The SSE Arena in London where he successfully defended his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles with a ninth-round KO.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have agreed in principle to a pair of heavyweight title fights, according to Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn. Joshua, the unified heavyweight champion, and Fury, the WBC and lineal heavyweight champion, are widely viewed as the best heavyweight boxers alive. There is presently massive interest in seeing the two Brits collide in the ring, and according to Hearn, things are moving in that direction.

So, a unification bout makes sense, but contractual issues made that fight unlikely to happen. Now, however, according to several reports, there are early discussions to have Fury and Joshua fight in December in Saudi Arabia.

Next up on the Fury family hitlist is Anthony Joshua, who John Fury predicts will be “in tears” if he enters the ring to fight his son. On February 22nd at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, “The Gyspy King” faced Deontay Wilder in their eagerly anticipated-rematch. Tyson Fury was quick to pressure “The Bronze Bomber”. Wilder fell twice in the bout before Fury cornered him in the seventh round and the referee called a stop the action. Unlike their first bout which ended in a draw, Tyson Fury rose victorious by TKO and claimed the WBC, Ring, and Lineal heavyweight titles.

Tyson Fury has his sights on the man who could be his next opponent, and that is Anthony Joshua. “The Gypsy King,” told the fellow British heavyweight that he “missed his chance” to beat Deontay Wilder for the WBC belt, and so their matchup is the one to make. On Saturday night, Fury entered the boxing ring for a monumental rematch against Deontay Wilder. Their 2018 fight ended in a draw, but the Brit made sure that didn’t happen a second time around. Fury managed to knock Wilder down twice before claiming the TKO victory in the seventh round of their rematch.

On Saturday February 22nd, “The Gyspy King” and “The Bronze Bomber” faced off in their blockbuster rematch at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Unlike their first contest, which resulted in a draw, Tyson Fury sealed the TKO win in the seventh round this time around.

Deontay Wilder will square off with Tyson Fury for a second time tonight in what is being billed as one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Fury and Wilder first met in December of 2018. On that night, Fury seemed to win the majority of the rounds, but Wilder scored a devastating 12th-round knockout that looked like it spelled the end for Fury. Miraculously, ‘The Gypsy King’ was able to recover and the bout was ruled a draw.

Evander Holyfield recently sent some encouragement to his former training partner Andy Ruiz Jr. Ruiz famously delivered the first loss of Anthony Joshua’s professional career to become the new unified heavyweight champ early in 2019. He beat the British fighter by technical knockout in the seventh round of their June bout, claiming the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles in the process.

In this statement, the former champion vowed to vindicate his loss and reclaim the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles in a trilogy bout. The Mexican fighter first fought Anthony Joshua in June 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Ruiz Jr accomplished a shocking TKO victory in the seventh round over the formerly undefeated fighter.

Andy Ruiz Jr. blames months of “partying” and not training enough as the reason why he lost to Anthony Joshua during their rematch in Saudi Arabia over the weekend. On Saturday, the former unified heavyweight champion attempted to defend his titles in a rematch against Joshua. They first met in the ring six months ago, when Ruiz Jr won by technical knockout in the seventh round. However, the Mexican didn’t have the same success the second time around, as he was comprehensively out-pointed during their rematch.
