Jeff Molina reacts after three-year suspension over gambling probe: "I made a mistake by continuing to wager"

Jeff Molina has opened up after his three-year suspension was handed down by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Molina received a three-year suspension and was fined $235.56 in prosecution fees for failing to disclose his teammate Darrick Minner’s injury and then willingly placing a significant bet on the fight. His suspension expires on November 5, 2025.

Paul Felder is generally loved by MMA fans, both for the epic fights he gave us in the Octagon, and for his impeccable work as a cage-side commentator. According to welterweight star Colby Covington, however, Felder isn’t as squeaky-clean as some fans might guess. During a recent appearance on Submission Radio, Covington was asked about some recent comments Felder made. Specifically, the UFC commentator claimed that Covington’s trash-talking shtick had lost some of its authenticity.

Then, after making the transition over to mixed martial arts, he was able to win world titles in two weight classes in the UFC. While he hasn’t quite been able to find success since returning from retirement with three straight losses, his resume is still pretty remarkable.

Later this year in Montreal, ‘Remember The Name’ will look to make his first title defense. Almost a year after beating Leon Edwards in Manchester to win UFC gold, Belal Muhammad will meet the rising Jack Della Maddalena. The Australian will enter his first title fight riding a 17-fight winning streak, last handing Gilbert Burns a knockout loss last year in Miami. However, the welterweight title won’t be the only one on the line in Canada.

Cain Velasquez sentenced to 5 years in prison for 2022 shooting

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has been sentenced to five years in prison for his 2022 shooting. Velasquez’s sentencing came down from Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Arthur Bocanegra on Monday. The maximum time Velasquez could have served in jail was 40 years, or as little as walking away with zero prison time. According to KRON4, Deputy District Attorney Aaron French asked the Judge for a sentence of 30 years to life in prison, while Velasquez’s camp was hoping to walk away.
