UFC president Dana White recently confirmed to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto a lightweight title bout between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson is being targeted for April 18. This would be “The Eagle’s” third title defense and Ferguson’s first shot at the undisputed gold. Ferguson is a former interim champion.

UFC president Dana White told ESPN on Monday that the fight between Nurmagomedov and Ferguson is getting closer to becoming a reality and it is expected to headline a pay-per-view on April 18 in Brooklyn, New York.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight Cindy Dandois was allegedly the victim of a vicious beating by her ex-boyfriend outside her home in Belgium. Dandois told HLN that she had recently broken up with her ex-boyfriend, called by the initials M.B. in the news article. The initials stand for Musti Brika, who is also an MMA fighter and who was named as the attacker on the SCEPTR news website. According to Dandois, she told Brika that she wanted break up and remain friends, but he was not happy and had been threatening her for a while. She was shocked when he showed up at her front door and beat her last Friday afternoon, cutting her face and breaking her nose.

A third suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the disappearance of Aniah Blanchard, the 19-year old stepdaughter of UFC heavyweight fighter, Walt Harris. On Monday, authorities in Alabama found human remains on a country road. They are believed to belong to the missing Aniah Blanchard.

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier praised rival Conor McGregor, saying the Irishman is “by far” the hardest puncher he’s ever fought. Poirier has been active on social media answering fan questions, and someone asked him who was the hardest hitter he ever fought. Poirier didn’t hesitate and said it was McGregor. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson has been booked for the fifth time and now odds for the fight have been released. UFC president, Dana White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that they were targeting April 18 in Brooklyn, New York for the bout. Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of Khabib Nurmagomedov then tweeted out that his client had signed the contract for the bout.

According to a report from MMA Fighting, VanZant will face Ribas in Brasiia, Brazil on March 14. It will be the final fight on VanZant’s UFC contract before presumably testing the free agent market.
