Usman’s reign as the 170-pound king likely sealed a Hall of Fame induction in the future. “The Nigerian Nightmare” defeated Colby Covington twice, Gilbert Burns, and Jorge Masvidal twice during his run at the top of the 170-pound mountain. Usman even knocked “Gamebred” out cold, which was a rare feat.

Tom Aspinall has quite the response to those who have been trolling him since the conclusion of UFC 321. Aspinall’s title defense against Ciryl Gane back in October ended on a whimper. Gane accidentally poked both of Aspinall’s eyes, and the UFC Heavyweight Champion could not continue. The bout was ruled a no contest as a result.

Not only has the foul slowed down many fights, it’s ended them prematurely. It’s been a problem in the sport throughout the years and there appears to be no sign of things slowing down.

Sean O’Malley admits he is concerned for his friend Jake Paul in his upcoming boxing match with Anthony Joshua. Paul (12-1) will square off with the former two-time heavyweight champion in Joshua (28-4) on December 19th at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. It is a matchup that caught many fans and pundits by surprise, as ‘The Problem Child’ was originally slated to compete in an exhibition bout with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. That proposed ‘Tank’ matchup ultimately fell apart, and Paul signed on to fight Joshua instead.

UFC legend Georges St-Pierre admits that it would be difficult to bet against Jon Jones in a hypothetical matchup with Tom Aspinall. Jones (28-1 MMA) and Aspinall (15-3 MMA) were of course linked to fight back in 2024, this while ‘Bones’ dawned the undisputed heavyweight title and the Brit served as interim champion. However, shortly following his stoppage victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Jones informed Dana White and company that he had decided to retire and thus would be vacating the promotion’s heavyweight championship.

Tsarukyan was slated to challenge former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev early this year, but was forced out of the fight with an injury at the eleventh hour. It quickly became clear the incident landed him on the UFC’s naughty list, as it was revealed he would need to win another fight before challenging for the belt.

Alexander Volkanovski openly admits that he feels other fighters were “more deserving” of a title fight at UFC 325 when compared to Diego Lopes. Volkanovski (27-4 MMA) will look to defend his featherweight title in a rematch against Lopes (27-7 MMA) in the headliner of UFC 325 on February 1st in Sydney, Australia. The pair first collided at UFC 314 this past April, with ‘The Great’ ultimately regaining the then vacant featherweight strap with a unanimous decision victory.

Arman Tsarukyan was not happy to learn that Paddy Pimblett will be fighting Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324. Prior to his dominant submission victory over Dan Hooker in the headliner of last weekend’s UFC Qatar event, Tsarukyan had made it clear that he wanted to make a quick turnaround and challenge Ilia Topuria for the title in January.

Pimblett has been put in a big spot for UFC’s debut on Paramount+. “The Baddy” will be facing Justin Gaethje for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship in the UFC 324 headliner on Jan. 24. Ilia Topuria is the main 155-pound champion, but he’s currently dealing with personal issues.

One renowned coach believes Alexander Volkanovski is in a difficult position ahead of UFC 325. UFC CEO Dana White dropped some big fight news on Thanksgiving. White revealed that the UFC 324 main event will be an interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett. It was also revealed that Volkanovski will be defending the UFC Featherweight Championship against Diego Lopes in a rematch at UFC 325.

For the longest time now, Lerone Murphy has been viewed as a legitimate title threat in the UFC’s featherweight division. He has been able to knock off a string of notable names, and most recently, he knocked Aaron Pico out cold. Many, including Alexander Volkanovski himself, wanted to see Lerone earn a championship opportunity off the back of that. However, it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen.
