Joaquin Buckley has a rather interesting offer for UFC Middleweight Champion Khamzat Chimaev. Buckley is a welterweight contender who has made it clear that he’s not a fan of all the wrestling in MMA. Perhaps that has to do with his unanimous decision loss to former UFC titleholder Kamaru Usman back in June. Buckley had no answer for “The Nigerian Nightmare’s” grappling.

Brandon Royval has spoken out after suffering a first-round knockout defeat to Manel Kape at UFC Vegas 112. Royval was hoping to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to current UFC Flyweight Champion Joshua Van. It wasn’t meant to be, as Kape dropped Royval and finished him with ground-and-pound this past Saturday. Kape has now elevated his status as a potential title contender.

Despite having beef with Ilia Topuria, Paddy Pimblett hopes “El Matador’s” personal issues can be squared away. Topuria, the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, recently revealed that he is on hiatus to handle his current situation. As a result, an interim title fight has been booked between Pimblett and Justin Gaethje. That bout will headline UFC 324 on Jan. 24.

Ilia Topuria has made quite the assertion about what a win for Justin Gaethje at UFC 324 would do. Gaethje is an underdog going into his interim UFC Lightweight Championship fight against Paddy Pimblett, which is scheduled for Jan. 24. The fight will headline UFC’s debut event on Paramount+. It’s a new era for UFC, as the top MMA promotion ditches pay-per-view.

The Octagon returned to the Apex for tonight’s UFC Vegas 112 event, and four fighters wound up taking home performance bonuses. This evening’s fight card was headlined by a key men’s flyweight matchup featuring Brandon Royval taking on Manel Kape. The contest proved to be a coming out part for the Angolan-born Portuguese fighter in Manel Kape. After a competitive opening couple of minutes, ‘Starboy’ found a home for a big right hand that sent Brandon Royval crashing down to the canvas. Kape quickly followed up with some heavy ground and pound shots, which forced the referee to jump in and stop the onslaught. It was an impressive victory for Manel, and one that could lead to a title shot in his next Octagon appearance.

On the biggest stage of his career, Morales knocked out Sean Brady in the opening round at UFC 322 to assert himself as a top title contender.

A huge cocaine sting has led to the arrest of a former UFC athlete. Service de police de la Ville de Montréal announced several arrests after launching an investigation that began “last July,” per La Presse. Alex Garcia, who last competed under the UFC banner back in 2018, was among the names arrested and taken to the Montreal courthouse. Michele Laddaga and Victor Julio Sanchez Medrano have also been arrested.

Justin Gaethje will not be getting assistance from Arman Tsarukyan ahead of UFC 324. Gaethje is scheduled to clash with Paddy Pimblett on Jan. 24 for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship. Ilia Topuria, who is the main titleholder at 155 pounds, is on hiatus dealing with a personal situation. This is why the UFC brass felt the need to create an interim title.

At UFC 325 in Australia, Alexander Volkanovski will defend the UFC featherweight championship against Diego Lopes. It will serve as the second time that he has battled Lopes within the last year, having defeated him to win back the belt following Ilia Topuria’s move up to lightweight.

Melissa Croden battles Luana Santos on the December 13th UFC Fight Night in what is the promotion’s final card of 2025. With Santos in the number fifteen spot in the 135-pound division, ‘Scare’ Croden could find herself in the rankings hierarchy heading into 2026. When getting her thoughts on what that would mean to her at this juncture, Croden said [via MMA Canada], “Yeah. I mean, again, it’s another; it’s a new thing to think about. It’s a new thing to consider and new goals to be had, right? Like I think it would be, as far as I understand, like if I am successful against Luana [Santos] then I would potentially be within the top 15 after my second fight in the UFC.”

Jack Della Maddalena losing his welterweight title to Islam Makhachev at UFC 322 would presumably make many in the Australian MMA scene feel crestfallen, but this was not reflected by a combat compatriot from the land down under vying for PFL gold later this week. Sara Collins is the combatant in question, and she battles Cris Cyborg for the PFL featherweight championship in the co-main event of PFL Europe 4 on December 13th.
