In fact, in his last fight, a victory over Mickey Gall, only his partner Latory Gonzalez was in his corner.

Streaking UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards has some advice for Khamzat Chimaev, who has recently made many high-profile callouts. Chimaev is easily the most hyped prospect in MMA at present, having gone 3-0 since July, with wins over John Phillips, Rhys McKee and most recently, Gerald Meerschaert. On the heels of those wins, the welterweight and middleweight super-prospect has called for fights with the likes of Kamaru Usman, Israel Adesanya, Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, Nick Diaz, Demian Maia and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Edwards, however, believes the Sweden-based Russian is getting a bit ahead of himself.
Coach responds to PED accusations against Israel Adesanya

Coach Eugene Bareman has responded to the performance-enhancing drug use accusations against his star pupil, UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya. Adesanya last fought at UFC 253 in late September, when he picked up a lopsided TKO win over the formerly unbeaten Paulo Costa. Regrettably, his victory came with a side dish of controversy, as fans noticed he was competing with a swollen right breast, which some viewers speculated could be a side effect of PED use.

Jon Jones continues to go back and forth with Israel Adesanya on social media, with his latest tactic being to bring up a knockout loss from Adesanya’s past. It seems as if MMA Twitter is 50% fight talk and 50% reactions to the ongoing rivalry between Jones and Adesanya. With “The Last Stylebender” coming off the back of his impressive win over Paulo Costa and Jones not having a fight booked, many believe that they’re destined to square off at some point in the not-so-distant future.

Rogerio Camoes, the strength and conditioning coach for UFC legend Anderson Silva, hopes that he will fight Israel Adesanya in a rematch. Silva and Adesanya fought in the main event of UFC 234, with Adesanya winning a unanimous decision in a three-round bout that won “Fight of the Night.” The win over Silva earned Adesanya an interim middleweight title fight against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236, while Silva went onto fight Jared Cannonier at UFC 237, losing via TKO due to leg injury.

Dana White doesn’t believe former UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar will return to the UFC. Recently, it was announced that Lesnar is a free agent from WWE. Immediately many wondered if he would return to the UFC. He was linked to a fight with Jon Jones or perhaps signing with Bellator to take on Fedor Emelianenko. Yet, for the UFC boss, he doesn’t see Lesnar returning for any fight.

Usman was supposed to take on Gilbert Burns in a fight that was supposed to happen in July but the Brazilian tested positive for COVID-19. Coach: Israel Adesanya could move to light heavyweight for next fight

City Kickboxing coach Eugene Bareman says his star pupil, Israel Adesanya, could move up to the light heavyweight division for his next fight. Adesanya is the current UFC middleweight champion, and defended his strap with a second-round TKO win over the formerly unbeaten Paulo Costa late last month. Since that win over Costa, he’s made no secret of the fact that he’d like to fight Jared Cannonier next—provided Cannonier gets by Robert Whittaker at UFC 254.

UFC president Dana White confirmed that the winner of The Korean Zombie vs. Brian Ortega will get a featherweight title shot. Bitter rivals ever since an incident at UFC 248 that saw Ortega slap the Korean Zombie’s friend Jay Park, The Korean Zombie and Ortega will finally get locked in the same cage on October 17 on Fight Island to settle their differences. They meet for five rounds or less to determine who will get a title shot against UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski.

Irene Aldana has issued a statement after she came up short opposite former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm over the weekend. Aldana took on Holm in the main event of UFC Fight Island 4 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi last Saturday. The bout represented the biggest test of her MMA career thus far, but unfortunately, it proved a bit too much, too soon, as she was soundly outfought by the former champion across five rounds.

Court McGee sustained a broken nose in the middle of his fight with Carlos Condit, but he didn’t need a doctor to help him fix it. McGee met Condit met on the undercard of last Saturday’s UFC Fight Island 4 card. Mid-way through the fight, Condit landed a blow that badly broke his foe’s nose. Rather than waiting for a doctor to fix this injury, McGee took it upon himself to straighten the break between rounds.

Condit and McGee met on the undercard of UFC Fight Island 4, which went down on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The pair fought for the allotted 15 minutes, with Condit ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory.
