Former UFC welterweight champ “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler is out of his planned UFC 255 fight with fellow knockout artist “Platinum” Mike Perry. Perry announced Lawler’s exit from the card on Twitter, and simultaneously called for a replacement matchup with Khamzat Chimaev.

UFC legend Randy Couture says that Jon Jones winning the heavyweight title “erases any argument” about his status in the GOAT discussion. Couture is one of the all-time greats himself. The UFC Hall of Famer, who is now age 57 and retired, is universally regarded as one of the top-10 pound-for-pound fighters of all time. He was a six-time UFC champion who won titles at both light heavyweight and heavyweight. As time has gone on, Couture’s name has slipped a bit in the P4P rankings. At one point, he was in the discussion for No. 1, but now it’s fair to say he’s top-10.

Dave Leduc has participated in many big fights since he began dedicating his life to Lethwei. His next fight, however, might be the biggest to date. Leduc, a man fight fans know as “The King of Lethwei,” is set to defend his crown on November 7 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, when he takes on his long-time rival Cyrus Washington in an anticipated rematch. The bout, which is being promoted by Sparta Sports and Entertainment, will air on pay-per-view at a price of $25.99 USD.

Khamzat Chimaev likes his chances against Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman, who hold the UFC middleweight and welterweight titles respectively. Chimaev was the breakout UFC star of summer, 2020. The Chechen-Swede first picked up two wins in the span of 10 days on Fight Island in July, defeating John Phillips by first-round submission and Rhys McKee by first-round TKO, then picked up his third win of the season when he knocked out Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11, also in the first round.

The full betting odds have been released for the 12 fights scheduled to take place at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 39: Hall vs. Silva event. The main event sees middleweight striker Uriah Hall take on UFC legend Anderson Silva in the final fight of Silva’s career. Hall has been an inconsistent performer over his years in the Octagon, but he has looked to be in top form as of late, winning three of his last four fights. As for Silva, he is now 45 and coming off of two straight losses, including a leg injury TKO to Jared Cannonier in May 2019. It remains to be seen what he has left.

Nurmagomedov returned to the cage in the main event of UFC 254 last Saturday on Fight Island, where he picked up a submission victory over Justin Gaethje and defended the UFC lightweight title in the process. Post-fight, he announced his retirement from MMA.

Sandhagen is coming off of an incredible win as he was able to knock out the No. 1 contender Marlon Moraes with a spinning wheel kick and punches on Fight Island earlier this month. Sandhagen was able to bounce back nicely after a surprisingly-quick loss to Sterling back at UFC 250 in June and the win over Moraes cements his place in the top-five of the weight class.
