In the immediate aftermath of Nurmagomedov’s big win over Justin Gaethje last Saturday night, Dana White revealed that “The Eagle” had actually suffered a broken foot of some description in the weeks leading up to the bout.

UFC middleweight Kevin Holland received a short-notice opponent for UFC Vegas 12 after Makhmud Muradov withdrew from Saturday’s event. Holland vs. Muradov was set to be a part of the main card for this Saturday’s UFC event, which features a main event between middleweights Uriah Hall and Anderson Silva. Holland vs. Muradov had the potential to a great fight, but unfortunately, it won’t be happening anymore. According to a report from MMAFighting.com, Muradov was forced to withdraw from the event and he has been replaced by the UFC newcomer Ontiveros.

Middleweight contender Uriah Hall suggested that UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya picks his opponents and looks for “easy fights.” Hall returns to the Octagon this Saturday at UFC Vegas 12 when he takes on UFC legend Anderson Silva in a five-round main event. Hall comes into this fight on a hot streak as he’s won three of his last four fights, including back-to-back victories over Antonio Carlos Junior and Bevon Lewis as an underdog. Hall is currently ranked No. 10 overall in the division and a win over Silva would get him one step closer to a potential title shot.

United States President Donald Trump questioned how Joe Biden would fare in MMA, saying “one gentle little touch to the face and he’s down.” Trump and Biden are hot on the campaign trail for the upcoming United States presidential election and both men never hesitate to trade shots with each other. Most of the shots these two men in their 70s trade are of the verbal variety but during a stop in Bullhead City, Arizona, Trump took it a step further, questioning how Biden would fare in an MMA fight. UFC legend Anderson Silva listed fellow MMA pioneer BJ Penn among the all-time greats but stressed “there is no such thing as the best.” Silva is considered by many to be among the greatest MMA fighters of all time and many consider him to be in the GOAT discussion. In the wake of Khabib Nurmagomedov beating Justin Gaethje to go 29-0 in MMA, many have rushed to call “The Eagle” the GOAT. But there are other fighters such as Jon Jones and Georges St-Pierre who are also in the conversation. When you consider all the variables, it’s hard to have one GOAT.

The UFC matched Maia up against the champ Shevchenko, and they will fight in the co-headliner of UFC 255 on November 21 in Las Vegas. The oddsmakers aren’t giving Maia much of a chance in this fight, as the Brazilian is listed as a massive betting underdog.

UFC legend Randy Couture says that Jon Jones winning the heavyweight title “erases any argument” about his status in the GOAT discussion. Couture is one of the all-time greats himself. The UFC Hall of Famer, who is now age 57 and retired, is universally regarded as one of the top-10 pound-for-pound fighters of all time. He was a six-time UFC champion who won titles at both light heavyweight and heavyweight. As time has gone on, Couture’s name has slipped a bit in the P4P rankings. At one point, he was in the discussion for No. 1, but now it’s fair to say he’s top-10.

Hall has been an inconsistent performer over his years in the Octagon, but he has looked to be in top form as of late, winning three of his last four fights. As for Silva, he is now 45 and coming off of two straight losses, including a leg injury TKO to Jared Cannonier in May 2019. It remains to be seen what he has left.

Nurmagomedov returned to the cage in the main event of UFC 254 last Saturday on Fight Island, where he picked up a submission victory over Justin Gaethje and defended the UFC lightweight title in the process. Post-fight, he announced his retirement from MMA.

The majority believes Lima’s striking is just too good that he will be able to pick apart Mousasi and earn the win to become a champ-champ in Bellator.

St-Pierre, who last fought back in November 2017, has been a man in demand over the course of the last few days in the wake of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement. Many fans and pundits alike were hoping that St-Pierre would go head to head with Nurmagomedov somewhere down the road, but now, it doesn’t appear as if it’s ever likely to happen.
