Jairzinho Rozenstruik (12-3 MMA) was set to match-up with Marcin Tybura (22-7 MMA) at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

It will be Kay Hansen (7-5 MMA) vs Piera Rodriguez (7-0 MMA) in the women’s strawweight bout at UFC 273 tomorrow night, Saturday April 9th at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. However, at the weigh-ins today, Kay Hansen missed making her weight for the fight. Hansen weighed in at 118.5 pounds and was consequently fined 20% of her purse, which will now go to her opponent, Rodriguez.

This Saturday night at UFC 273, Petr Yan will attempt to win back the UFC bantamweight title that he lost at UFC 259. On that night last year, he lost the belt to Aljamain Sterling via disqualification after throwing an illegal knee at “Funk Master” that left him unable to continue.

The pair have traded insults on several occasions and with both being two-weight world champions, they’re closer than anyone to making history by winning a third world title in a third weight class.

Aljamain Sterling believes he will finish Petr Yan in the first round at UFC 273 to defend his bantamweight title. In the co-main event of UFC 273 from Jacksonville, Florida, Sterling and Yan are having their highly-anticipated rematch to unify their titles. Sterling became the undisputed champion back at UFC 259 last March when Yan was DQ’d for landing an illegal knee. Since then, Sterling has been rehabbing an injury while Yan went on to defeat Cory Sandhagen to become the interim bantamweight champion.

While Sterling had some success in the early rounds, he was fading badly in the championship contest. In round four, Yan had the fight in complete control. For some inexplicable reason, he landed a big illegal knee.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is returning to the boxing ring in May. The 46-year-old was released from the UFC in November 2020 following a three-fight losing streak. Following his release, promotions such as Bellator and ONE Championship shared that they had zero intentions of having Silva fight for them.

Conor McGregor is facing six charges for alleged driving offenses. Back in March, it was revealed by Irish outlet Independent that McGregor was detained in west Dublin while driving his Bentley Continental GT valued at around €170,000. He was pulled over by gardaí and subsequently arrested for road traffic offenses. The outlet further reports that his luxury car was also seized from him on the roadside following his arrest but has since been returned to him.

Eddie Cha, the head coach of Korean Zombie, says his pupil is looking primed and has more power than ever ahead of his UFC 273 title fight against Alexander Volkanovski. Volkanovski was originally supposed to face Max Holloway for a third time but the Hawaiian was forced out of the bout and so the UFC quickly shifted to Zombie. Once he got the fight, Cha says Zombie flew right into Arizona and did his entire camp there.

On the main card of UFC 273, a very intriguing welterweight matchup goes down as Gilbert Burns takes on the undefeated and hyped-up, Khamzat Chimaev. Heading into the fight, Burns is a +375 underdog while the Swede is a massive -510 favorite. Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to pro fighters to get their prediction for the scrap. While the majority of pros are picking Chimaev, some think the odds for the contest are off, believing Burns can make this is a tough fight and possibly get the win.

The man known as “Bam Bam” has put together a nice win streak as of late and after his triumph over Derrick Lewis, there’s an argument to be made that he’s on the verge of receiving a title shot.
