BKFC has added UFC lightweight veteran Melvin Guillard to their return this month. The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship promotion has provided a home to many former UFC stars. Names such as Artem Lobov, Ricco Rodriguez, Chris Leben, and more, have all found success without the gloves in the boxing ring.

Mike Davis has had a hard time getting fights and is hoping to fight out the final three bouts of his deal soon. Davis returned to the Octagon at UFC Vegas 61 against Viacheslav Borshchev after his original opponent, Uros Medic was forced to pull out. When Davis made the walk to the Octagon it was the first time he fought since January 2021 and he admits the rust was there.

Oliveira and Makhachev are set to headline UFC 280 for the vacant lightweight title in one of the most anticipated lightweight title fights in quite some time. The Brazilian is coming off a submission win over Justin Gaethje but missed weight and was stripped of his belt. Prior to that, he submitted Dustin Poirier and knocked out Michael Chandler to establish himself as 155’s new kingpin. Makhachev, meanwhile, hasn’t fought a top-10 opponent yet which is why Chandler is surprised that the Russian is listed as the betting favorite.

Daniel Cormier is set to make his WWE debut as a special guest referee on the pro wrestling promotion’s Extreme Rules event on October 8th. That’s led many fans to speculate as to whether this could just be the first of many appearances for ‘DC’ in the squared circle. Cormier has had offers in the past to participate in other angles with wrestlers like former NXT tag team champions the Creed Brothers. Shogun Rua will fight in Brazil this January. According to MMA reporter Alex Behunin, Rua is set to face Ihor Potieria at UFC 283 in Brazil. The event will take place on January 23, 2023, at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The main event of the fight has not been announced.

Tyron Woodley doesn’t think Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the top-10 fighters of all time. Nurmagomedov retired with a record of 29-0 and many consider him one of the greatest, but a knock on him was he retired too early and there were still many fights for him to take. Yet, after his father’s passing, he didn’t want to fight anymore. So, for Woodley, he says Khabib isn’t on his all-time top-10 list.

Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is branching out into modeling. ‘Thug Rose’ has been out of action since her fight with Carla Esparza in May. The bout was a rematch of their first encounter at The Ultimate Fighter Finale in 2014. In their first outing, Esparza picked up a third-round submission victory to become strawweight champion.

He’s now set to face Makhachev for the vacant title in a highly-anticipated scrap and a fight many are torn on who will win.
