Sean O’Malley believes that if he can pull off something “spectacular” in his fight with Petr Yan, his star level will push him closer to the status of Conor McGregor. O’Malley and Yan are set to clash inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 22. The “Sugar” show enters the fight as the number 12-ranked UFC bantamweight, while Yan holds the number one spot behind current 135-pound titleholder Aljamain Sterling.

Justin Gaethje thinks the UFC Lightweight Championship fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev could be a barn burner, but he thinks it also has a chance of being a dud. Oliveira vs. Makhachev will headline UFC 280 on October 22. The title fight will be held inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Oliveira would’ve entered the fight as the UFC Lightweight Champion, but he was stripped of the gold one day before his UFC 274 fight with Gaethje due to missing championship weight. Oliveira defeated “The Highlight” via first-round submission.

UFC matchmakers are looking to beef up the UFC 283 card, adding Johnny Walker vs. Paul Craig. Ag Fight reports that Walker vs. Craig will be held inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event is scheduled to take place on Jan. 21.

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier was involved in the main event of WWE Extreme Rules this past Saturday night. Cormier was the special guest referee for the Fight Pit match between former UFC fighter Matt Riddle and Seth “Freakin” Rollins. During the match, Riddle and Rollins quickly learned that “DC” isn’t to be played with. At one point, both men shoved Cormier out of the way and the former two-division UFC champion pushed back at both men and got in their faces to let them know he was the law.
Shane Burgos claims he’s making “a stupid amount of money” with new PFL deal

Shane Burgos claims he’ll be rolling in dough soon enough thanks to his PFL deal. Burgos struck gold when he decided to fight out of his UFC contract. This led to him being a hot ticket in free agency. In the end, PFL presented Burgos with an offer that was simply too good to refuse. Burgos inked the deal and he’s now a PFL fighter.

Hardy went one-on-one with Mike Cook, who competed under the BYB bare-knuckle fighting promotion last year. Black Sheep Boxing promoted the Hardy vs. Cook bout. Hardy scored the second-round knockout.
