UFC women’s strawweight contender Joanna Jedrzejczyk said she wants to be the female BMF in the sport of mixed martial arts. Jedrzejczyk is coming off of a huge win over Michelle Waterson at UFC Tampa that has almost assuredly earned her a title shot at UFC women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang. She recently saw her teammate at American Top Team Jorge Masvidal capture the UFC BMF belt with his third-round TKO win over Nate Diaz at UFC 244. Now Jedrzejczyk says her goal is to be the female BMF.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has received a contract for a fight in Houston, Texas on February 8. This Houston card has not yet been made official, but it’s expected to be called UFC 247 — assuming the January 18 card linked to Conor McGregor’s comeback fight is UFC 246. Jones’ opponent is widely believed to be undefeated contender Dominick Reyes, but the bout is not yet official.

Kenny Florian has a feeling that Colby Covington will get the job done against Kamaru Usman. On Dec. 14, Covington will challenge Usman for the UFC welterweight championship. The 170-pound title bout will take place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’ll serve as UFC 245’s main event.

Weight classes work a little differently in ONE Championship, where extreme weight-cutting is not allowed. ONE’s welterweight division 185 lbs, not 170 lbs. It’s lightweight division is 170 lbs, not 155. And so on. This occasionally means fighters wind up in the cage with bigger opposition. Sage Northcutt certainly had that problem in his ONE debut. Northcutt made his ONE debut in the welterweight division — 185 pounds. In this debut, he was obliterated by destructive kickboxer Cosmo Alexandre. The loss left him with significant facial damage that required intensive surgery to repair.

UFC welterweight contenders Rafael dos Anjos and Michael Chiesa have exchanged pleasantries ahead of their clash at UFC Raleigh next year. The UFC has confirmed that the two will square off at the show on January 25, which is already looking like one of the most stacked Fight Night cards in quite some time. Curtis Blaydes vs Junior dos Santos is set to main event the card in North Carolina with Cory Sandhagen vs Frankie Edgar having also been confirmed.

Top UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero took a shot at UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya on Thursday night with a hilarious “Captain Phillips”-inspired meme. Romero and Adesanya have engaged in a war of words on social media and in interviews lately with a potential fight between the two rivals on the horizon. With No. 1 contender Paulo Costa injured and unavailable to compete until next summer, Romero has been bandied about as Adesanya’s next potential opponent. Both men have said they have agreed to the matchup, but for whatever reason, it hasn’t been officially booked by the UFC yet as the promotion sorts out its Q1 2020 fight calender.

UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson labeled UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones as a “casual” fan for his use of MMA math to justify fighting Dominick Reyes next. Jones wrote on Twitter that he wants to fight Reyes next instead of Anderson, and used the fact that Ovince Saint Preux knocked out Anderson while Reyes dominated OSP as the reason for why Reyes is the more dangerous opponent.

Brendan Schaub is giving Ben Askren props for giving it a shot with the UFC. Askren wrapped up his MMA career after going 1-2 under the UFC banner. “Funky” cited needing to undergo hip replacement surgery as the reason for his decision. While Askren’s UFC run may not have been a total success, his reigns as the Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight ruler haven’t gone unnoticed.
