Dana White confirms Adesanya vs. Costa and Miocic vs. Cormier 3: “The fights we have lined up for summer are just awesome!”

UFC president Dana White confirmed Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier 3 as well as a middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa. The UFC has a number of high-profile fights lined up this summer, including Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns headlining UFC 251 on Fight Island in July, plus a really exciting middleweight fight between rivals Darren Till and Robert Whittaker planned for later this summer. The UFC intends on holding four shows at Fight Island in July before heading back to the UFC Apex in its home base of Las Vegas, Nevada, in August.
Robert Drysdale explains decision to try and keep Max Rohskopf fighting after he requested to stop

Robert Drysdale, the lead cornermen for UFC lightweight newcomer Max Rohskopf, explained his decision to ignore his fighter’s call to stop the fight. Drysdale, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and a former light heavyweight in the UFC, was Rohskopf’s lead corner for his UFC debut fight against Austin Hubbard at UFC on ESPN 11. Rohskopf was a perfect 5-0 on the regional scene with all five of his wins coming by way of submission, and he was the betting favorite coming into the fight with the three-fight UFC vet Hubbard despite taking the bout on just five days’ notice.
UFC president Dana White confirms that Conor McGregor is retired

UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the promotion’s Irish superstar Conor McGregor has retired from mixed martial arts. Following UFC 250 two weeks ago, McGregor took to social media to surprisingly announce his retirement from mixed martial arts. He later cited boredom as one of the reasons he stepped away from the sport, plus not being able to fight for the UFC lightweight title anytime soon with champion Khabib Nurmagomdov and interim champ Justin Gaethje having to unify the belt before McGregor could get another shot at it.

Former UFC fighter turned WWE superstar Matt Riddle has responded after being accused of sexual assault by Indie Wrestler Candy Cartwright. Cartwright had taken to Twitter on Friday evening where she shared the following story suggesting that Riddle forced her to give him oral sex in 2018.

UFC president Dana White says the world’s top MMA promotion is bracing for a second shutdown due to a potential second wave this fall of COVID-19. Despite all odds against them, the UFC has been pulling off shows since May even with the coronavirus still infecting people all over in the world and especially in the United States. White has remained adamant for months that the show would go on for the UFC and the promotion has made good on that promise with a number of shows in Florida in May and more in Las Vegas in June. The UFC is also planning for a number of events on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi this July and back in Vegas in August.

UFC president Dana White explained why Jose Aldo received the vacant title fight against Petr Yan at UFC 251 over the other top contenders at 135lbs. Despite coming off of back-to-back losses to Alexander Volkanovski and Marlon Moraes in his bantamweight debut, the UFC is giving Aldo the title shot against Yan after Henry Cejudo vacated it last month. The Aldo vs. Yan fight has been met with widespread criticism from fans and media, who do not believe that Aldo has earned the opportunity over Aljamain Sterling and some of the other top contenders in the bantamweight division.
