UFC president Dana White said that the promotion will have him in a headlining slot against a ranked opponent, but so far Chimaev hasn’t had his next fight booked.

On the flip side, Chimaev has made an instant impact in the Ultimate Fighting Championship with two wins at middleweight and one at welterweight across the last few months.

UFC welterweight and middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev reacted to Israel Adesanya finishing Paulo Costa with strikes at UFC 253. Adesanya finished his rival Costa in the second round with strikes to once again defend the UFC middleweight title. Following the fight, a number of UFC fighters took to social media to comment on the fight. One of those fighters was Chimaev, the emerging UFC superstar. On the main card of yesterday’s event in Nevada, rising star Khamzat Chimaev (9-0 MMA) squared off with seasoned middleweight veteran Gerald Meerschaert. The result was another sensational stoppage win for the undefeated Swedish prospect, as he put Meerschaert out cold with a right hand just 17-seconds into the opening round.
