Brunson (21-7 MMA) will enter tonight’s event headliner on a three-fight win streak, his latest being a TKO victory over Edmen Shahbazyan in August. Prior to that, the middleweight veteran was coming off back-to-back decision victories over Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou.

Kevin Holland has made it known he doesn’t like Derek Brunson. In the main event of UFC Vegas 22, Holland is set to face Brunson in a very intriguing middleweight bout. The winner of the fight would likely fight a top-five middleweight next, but Holland doesn’t care about any of that. Instead, he is just looking to beat up and knock out Brunson.

The official weigh-in results for Saturday’s UFC Vegas 22 card are in place, and one fighter missed weight and one fight was canceled. Headliners Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland both successfully weighed in at or under the non-title middleweight limit of 186lbs. Brunson came right in at 186, while Holland actually came a bit underweight at 183lbs. In the co-headliner, both Gregor Gillespie and Brad Riddell successfully weighed in at 155.5lbs under the non-title limit of 156lbs. Both the UFC Vegas 22 main event and the co-main event are now official and we are good to go there.

Kevin Holland says Israel Adesanya is a true loser now that he has been beaten in MMA, kickboxing, and boxing. In the main event of UFC 259, Adesanya moved up to light heavyweight against Jan Blachowicz to try and become a champ-champ. Unfortunately for Adesanya, he lost a decision, and for Holland, he says that just cements his claim that “The Last Stylebender” is a true loser.

The main event sees the seventh-ranked middleweight Derek Brunson take on the 10th-ranked Kevin Holland. Brunson will headline his second fight in a row, while this will be the first time Holland headlines a UFC card. It’s a fascinating matchup as Brunson has only lost to former or current champions, minus a few exceptions. If Holland is going to become a legit contender, he will need to beat Brunson on Saturday.

UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan and rival Aljamain Sterling engaged in a heated online feud, with Kevin Holland coming to the rescue. Yan and Sterling meet on March 6 in the co-main event of UFC 259, with Yan’s bantamweight belt on the line. The two rivals have been going back-and-forth on their social media accounts for seemingly the last year or so, and they will finally be able to put an end to their bitter feud next month. In the meantime, they continue to go after each other on Twitter. Only this time, a familiar face stopped by to lend a helping hand.

UFC president Dana White named his top three fighters to watch for in 2021, pointing out Khamzat Chimaev, Kevin Holland, and Joaquin Buckley. White was a guest on the “SHOUT! Buffalo Podcast” on Wednesday and he was asked to point out his top three fighters to look forward to heading into the new year. The UFC president named three of the hottest fighters on the UFC roster right now in Chimaev, Holland, and Buckley as his top three fighters to watch for in 2021.

UFC middleweight contenders Kevin Holland and Derek Brunson will meet in the headliner of a UFC Fight Night card that is set for March 2021. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report that Holland vs. Brunson will headline a UFC Fight Night event that takes place on March 20 at a location that has yet to be determined. The report says that both Holland and Brunson have verbally agreed to the bout with the only thing left being for both men to put fresh ink on the contract.

Kevin Holland and Vicente Luque have both offered to step in against Leon Edwards on January 20. Edwards, the UFC’s No. 3-ranked welterweight, was originally expected to battle Khamzat Chimaev in the January 20 card’s main event. Unfortunately, Chimaev has been forced out of that fight for undisclosed reasons, casting Edwards’ immediate future in uncertainty.

UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland was not impressed by a recent comment from former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. Dillashaw ruled over the UFC bantamweight division for several years, but was stripped of that title in early 2019, after he tested positive for the injectable-only performance-enhancing drug Erythropoietin (EPO). The former champion’s indiscretion caused him to be suspended for two years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, but that suspension will soon be over.

UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland called Khamzat Chimaev a “wannabe gangster” after hearing “crickets” following his recent call-out. Holland knocked out veteran Ronaldo Souza at UFC 256 last weekend with punches off his back on the ground. It was another incredible victory for Holland, who is 5-0 in 2020, with all five of his fights coming since May. After knocking Souza out in a $50,000 bonus-winning performance, Holland called out Chimaev, one of the hottest fighters in the UFC right now at either 170lbs or 180lbs. Chimaev currently has a date set with Leon Edwards for January 20 on Fight Island, but that didn’t stop Holland from calling the Swede out.

Throughout Holland’s still young career, he’s become somewhat of a knockout artist with 11 of his 21 victories coming via that finishing variation. By watching him in action, one can undeniably see he’s a striking showman.

While some aren’t including him in the discussion for Fighter of the Year, there’s no way of denying that Holland has been able to transform himself into a legitimate divisional contender between May and December with wins over highly regarded foes like Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Darren Stewart and Joaquin Buckley.

UFC middleweight Kevin Holland picked up a KO win over Ronaldo Souza at UFC 256, but he wishes it hadn’t been “Jacare” who got knocked out. Holland picked up arguably the biggest win of his MMA career to date when he brutally knocked Souza out in the first round with punches off his back. It was a unique knockout and extremely violent, too, as Souza’s body was contorted on the mat while Holland KOed him. It was the kind of win that officially announced Holland as a serious title contender in the UFC middleweight division, and also the kind of win that makes you wonder what Souza has left in the tank considering how devastating the KO was.

Tonight’s UFC 256 event included a key middleweight matchup featuring veteran Ronaldo Souza taking on surging contender Kevin Holland. Souza (26-8 MMA) had entered tonight’s event looking to snap a two-fight losing skid. In his most previous effort thirteen months ago, ‘Jacare’ suffered a split-decision loss to the UFC’s new light heavyweight champion in Jan Blachowicz. The former Strikeforce middleweight title holder had gone just 2-3 over his past five contests ahead of tonight’s event.
