Jimmy Crute is eager to be back and fighting in Australia. Crute announced he’d be stepping away from MMA after his submission loss to Alonzo Menifield in July of 2023. The light heavyweight will now return at UFC 312 in Australia, as he says the time is right for him to come back.

The first three fights have been announced for UFC 312 which is set to go down in Sydney, Australia on February 9 (Feb 8th in the US). The Ultimate Fighting Championship, in the present day, is as global as it has ever been. The mixed martial arts leader has been having an impact in countries all across the world, and they’ll almost certainly continue to expand that influence. Of course, the promotion certainly has markets that it visits more often than others, and one of those is Australia.

Jimmy Crute will be stepping away from MMA. At UFC 290, Crute suffered a submission loss to Alonzo Menifield after the two fought to a draw back in February. It was a tough loss for Crute and after the defeat, he took his gloves and laid them down in the center of the Octagon. However, his team later revealed Jimmy Crute isn’t actually retired.

Jimmy Crute is set to end his 14-month layoff at UFC 284. Crute last fought in December of 2021 when he suffered a KO loss to Jamahal Hill. A couple of months later, Crute revealed he would be going under the knife for a serious knee injury. After rehabbing it, the timing worked out for him to have his return fight at home in Australia.

Jimmy Crute, (12-3 MMA), currently competes in the light heavyweight division of the UFC. Crute’s last fight was on December 3rd, 2021 at UFC Vegas 44 where he matched up with Jamahal Hill (9-1 MMA). The outcome was a brutal knockout loss with Hill dropping Crute just 48 seconds into the fight.

UFC light heavyweight contender Jimmy Crute issued a statement following his brutal KO loss to Jamahal Hill at UFC Vegas 44. Hill needed just 48 seconds to drop Crute and knock him out with follow-up punches on the ground. For Hill, it was a huge bounceback win after getting finished by Paul Craig in devastating fashion in his last outing. For Crute, meanwhile, it was a brutal KO loss, and his second straight defeat via stoppage after losing via TKO to Anthony Smith in his last fight. To make matters worse, Crute appeared to suffer damage around the eye area of his face.

UFC light heavyweight prospect Jimmy Crute issued a statement following his first-round TKO loss to Anthony Smith at UFC 261. Crute was the betting favorite heading into the bout with Smith and he was doing well early on in the fight with his takedowns, but a leg injury caused the doctor to stop the fight at the end of the first round. A light heavyweight bout featuring former title challenger Anthony Smith taking on Jimmy Crute kicks off tonight’s UFC 261 main card. Smith (35-16 MMA) will enter tonight’s event looking to build off his impressive first round submission victory over Devin Clarke this past November. ‘Lionheart’ has gone 2-2 since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jon Jones in his bid for the promotions light heavyweight title at UFC 235.

A pair of light heavyweight contenders will meet at UFC 261 as Anthony Smith is set to take on Jimmy Crute, who recently lost his opponent. Crute was originally set to take on Johnny Walker at UFC 260, but Walker was forced to withdraw from that fight due to a torn pectoral muscle. Instead, Crute is now shifted back a month but he gets to take on a higher-ranked fighter instead when he meets Smith at UFC 261, which takes place on April 24. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to break the news that Smith would be fighting Crute.

A battle of top-15 light heavyweights is lined up for March as Johnny Walker returns to the Octagon against Jimmy Crute. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report that Walker vs. Crute is set for March 27 at the newly-announed UFC Fight Night 190 card. So far there are few details known about this card, but it seems likely to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas or on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi as all the events are held these days. Walker vs. Crute is the first bout revealed for this March 27 event.

UFC light heavyweight prospect Jimmy Crute reveals the personal sacrifices he makes, including sleeping in a van, to fight in the UFC. The 24-year-old Aussie is one of the best up-and-coming light heavyweights in the sport. After making his MMA debut in 2016, Crute won the first seven fights of his career in Australia before getting a chance to fight on Dana White’s Contender Series. He scored a knockout on the show to earn a UFC deal. Crute then scored back-to-back stoppage wins over Paul Craig and Sam Alvey before losing for the first time against Misha Cirkunov.

Jimmy Crute is looking to return to the win column at UFC Auckland when he battles Michal Oleksiejczuk. Crute is coming off a first-round submission loss to Misha Cirkunov at UFC Vancouver where a win would have put him in the top-15. In the fight, the Aussie was close to finishing it but he says he let his emotions get the better of him.

A light heavyweight bout between Misha Cirkunov and Jimmy Crute took place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Vancouver event. Misha Cirkunov (15-5 MMA) will return to the Octagon for the first time since suffering a brutal first round knockout loss to Johnny Walker this past March at UFC 235. After starting his UFC career 4-0, the Canadian has since gone just 1-3 over his past four fights.

Not everybody agreed with the stoppage in last weekend’s Jim Crute vs. Sam Alvey fight. UFC President Dana White, for example, was adamant that referee Marc Goddard stopped the action too early, and that Alvey should have been given a bit more time to recover. Speaking to MMA Fighting, Marc Goddard gave his take on the stoppage in this fight. In hindsight, he admits that he perhaps could have handled the situation differently, but he also reminds his detractors that he’s forced to act decisively in mere milliseconds, oftentimes when a fighter’s safety is on the line.

Back in July, undefeated Australian light heavyweight prospect Jim Crute earned himself a UFC contract with a first-round destruction of Chris Birchler on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. This Sunday in Adelaide, Australia (Saturday in North America), he’ll make his long-awaited UFC debut against Scotland’s Paul Craig. The last time Paul Craig was in action, he dazzled the MMA community with an epic comeback win, dodging near-certain defeat by submitting Magomed Ankalaev with a single second remaining in their fight. Jim Crute saw this fight, and he was as impressed as the rest of us. That being said, he assures Paul Craig will have no such victory at UFC Adelaide.
