Heading into the fight, Blachowicz is a -200 favorite while ‘Jacare’ is a +160 underdog. Ahead of the action, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions. The majority are leaning towards Blachowicz and some see the Polish fighter getting another knockout win. Many also believe the size difference will play a factor.

The Polish standout has been campaigning for a shot at ‘Bones’ ever since he knocked out Luke Rockhold back at UFC 239. According to ESPN, Jan Blachowicz will welcome Jacare Souza to the light heavyweight division. The fight will headline a UFC Fight Night on Nov. 16 in São Paulo, Brazil, according to Brett Okamoto, per UFC president Dana White.

Blachowicz is coming off of a knockout win over Luke Rockhold at UFC 239 and believes he deserves the next title shot. Why he thinks that he deserves the next crack at ‘Bones’ is simple. Blachowicz, like many, believe that had former middleweight champ Luke Rockhold proved victorious in their fight last July, he would have been awarded the next title shot.

According to a report from Kevin Iole, the UFC is considering moving a light heavyweight bout between Luke Rockhold and Jan Blachowicz from UFC 239 to UFC San Antonio on July 20, two weeks later. The UFC is trying to move Jan Blachowicz versus Luke Rockhhold off of UFC 239 on July 6 and put it on UFC on ESPN 4 on July 20 in San Antonio. Not done, but in the works. UFC not looking at a Shevchenko-Carmouche bout for that date at this time.

At long last, former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has a date an opponent for his anticipated light heavyweight debut. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Rockhold will make his debut in the 205-pound division against Poland’s Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239. The card goes down on July 6 in Las Vegas, in the heat of the UFC’s annual International Fight week.

In the co-main event of last night’s UFC London card, Polish light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz avenged a 2015 decision loss to Jimi Manuwa, capturing a unanimous decision win over his British rival in the card’s Fight of of the Night. Although the UFC has yet to update its official rankings, this win is likely to propel Blachowicz to the uppermost reaches of the light heavyweight top-15. While Blachowicz suggested post-fight that he would happily give Manuwa a tie-breaking rematch, he later added that he’s also interested in a showdown with PRIDE legend and former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

He’d prefer to be fighting a higher ranked opponent, but it seems like none of them are accepting fights with him. “I wanted to fight a top five guy. I wanted the No. 3 guy Glover Teixeira. I said let me fight Glover, they said Glover doesn’t want to fight. I said let me fight Mauricio ‘Shogun’ [Rua], they said Shogun doesn’t want to fight. I said who else is available in the top 10? They said no one was available to fight in the whole top 10. I said who’s available to fight in the whole light heavyweight division? Only Jan Blachowicz said yes so I said give me Jan Blachowicz. That’s the reason we’re fighting.”
