The news broke just minutes after the UFC 298 pay-per-view had concluded, as UFC CEO Dana White chose to unveil the fight through promotional social media channels instead of a traditional trailer.

Alex Pereira isn’t ruling out the possibility of him headlining UFC 301 in Brazil. UFC CEO Dana White announced on Saturday that Pereira would headline UFC 300 on April 13 against Jamahal Hill. Pereira is looking to defend his light heavyweight title for the first time, but originally, the plan was for him to headline UFC 301 on May 4 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Hill will be looking to become a two-time UFC light heavyweight titleholder. “Sweet Dreams” was never defeated for the gold, rather he relinquished the championship after suffering a ruptured Achilles.

During that time, prosecutors formally charged Hill with one count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence.

Pereira added the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship to his mantle on Saturday night (November 11) at UFC 295. “Poatan” scored a second-round TKO finish after dropping Jiri Prochazka and elbowing him until referee Marc Goddard has seen enough. While the finish has been debated online, Prochazka himself said he was out at one point during the blitz from Pereira.
