Israel Adesanya thinks fighters need to be paid more money. Adesanya has been vocal in the past about fighter pay, especially with Francis Ngannou going through his contract dispute. Although ‘Stylebender’ signed a lucrative deal prior to his last fight, he says fighters are still paid like strippers and should instead be paid more like NFL and NBA players.

Alex Pereira says he is confused by Israel Adesanya’s ‘big pillow gloves’ comment ahead of UFC 276. Adesanya spoke about a potential rematch with Pereira ahead of UFC 276. Pereira  defeated ‘The Last Stylebender’ twice in kickboxing but Adesanya stated that the MMA doesn’t have ‘big pillow gloves’ like kickboxing and the middleweight champion can’t wait to drive a four-ounce glove ‘through (Pereira’s) face’ when they finally meet again.

Although the champ has only been in the UFC since 2018 he has already cleared 50 clean drug tests and when he got his jacket he took a small jab at Jones.

The pros are nearly unanimous in thinking Adesanya defends his belt with ease and will likely score a stoppage win at UFC 276.

Israel Adesanya believes Alex Pereira is overhyped and he hopes he can expose that. When Pereira signed with the UFC it was highly anticipated due to the fact he is the former GLORY kickboxing champ and has two wins over Adesanya including one by KO. In his debut, he scored a highlight-reel KO win over Andreas Michailidis and then beat Bruno Silva by decision in his sophmore appearance. Yet, for Adesanya, he believes those were handpicked opponents and because of that, he thinks Pereira is the most overhyped fighter in the UFC.

The middleweight champion’s only loss of his MMA career came when he made the move from middleweight to light heavyweight.  It was Israel Adesanya (22-1 MMA) vs Jan Blachowicz (29-9 MMA) at UFC 259 in March of 2021. Blachowicz won via unanimous decision.
