Dustin Poirier has found a new home in the stacked UFC lightweight division after falling to defeat to the current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor back in 2014. Poirier has found success in the lightweight division and hasn’t tasted defeat since his bout with McGregor and says that his fight with “The Notorious” helped him grow.

UFC veteran Dustin Poirier made his return to lightweight last year at ‘UFC FN: Mendes vs. Lamas’ in April as he knocked out Carlos Diego Ferreira in the 1st round. Following that fight, Poirier went on to defeat Yancy Medeiros via TKO, and Joseph Duffy via decision. The return to lightweight has been viewed as a bit of a career resurgence for Poirier, who put together an impressive run at featherweight for several years, but fell short of becoming a #1 contender.
