Deiveson Figueiredo has sent Cody Garbrandt a heated a message ahead of their fight. In the main event of UFC 255, Figueiredo is looking for his first flyweight title defense when he battles Garbrandt. It is a very interesting fight and the first time Garbrandt will be fighting at flyweight in the UFC. The two have also been taking shots at one another and that continues to be the case as Figueiredo took to Instagram to tell Garbrandt he is dreaming of knocking his head off.

UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo plans to put a hurting on Cody Garbrandt for skipping the line in the division. Garbrandt, the former UFC bantamweight champion, will challenge Figueiredo for the flyweight title in the main event of UFC 255 on November 21. The bout will mark Garbrandt’s debut in the flyweight division, and many fans and pundits feel that he hasn’t earned the opportunity to fight for gold in the weight class yet.

Cody Garbrandt took the time to mock Aljamain Sterling’s upcoming title shot against Petr Yan. “The Funkmaster” has been asking for a title shot for some time, especially following his first-round submission victory against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 250 in June. It brought his current win streak up to five, leaving many to assume he would be next in line for a shot at the title. Now, UFC president Dana White has finally granted his wishes after weeks of not committing to the matchup. At the UFC on ESPN 15 press conference, he said that Sterling is likely next in line to fight Yan.

Two flyweight title fights featuring Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt and Valentina Shevchenko vs. Jennifer Maia have been added to UFC 255. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke the news that the world’s leading MMA promotion is planning both of these tittle fights for UFC 255, which will take place on November 21 at a to-be-determined location. UFC president Dana White confirmed both bouts are official. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani later added that Figueiredo has signed a new, six-fight contract with the UFC.

After Deiveson Figueiredo beat Joseph Benavidez many wondered what would be next for the new flyweight king. Three names came up in Alex Perez, Brandon Moreno, and Askar Askarov. Yet, the former bantamweight champion in Garbrandt has been open about a drop to flyweight and says Dana White has told him they are working on him fighting Figueiredo.

Former UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo isn’t impressed by the division’s new champion Deiveson Figueiredo, and thinks his championship reign will end against Askar Askarov. Cejudo last fought at UFC 249 in May when he took on Dominick Cruz. He won by TKO in the second round against the 135-pound legend and finished the bout with a surprising message. From the Octagon, he announced his decision to retire from MMA and subsequently vacate his bantamweight title.

Figueiredo and Benavidez first fought back in February, where it was Figueiredo who won by second-round knockout. However the Brazilian missed weight, so he didn’t claim the flyweight belt.

Figueiredo won the vacant flyweight belt when he dominated Joseph Benavidez in the main event of UFC Fight Island 2. After knocking Benavidez down three times and then nearly finishing the fight three times with rear-naked chokes, he finally was able to get the RNC late in the first when he choked Benavidez out cold in an incredible title-winning victory.
