Carlos Prates has taken aim at Ian Machado Garry as the Irishman called him a quitter ahead of their UFC Kansas City main event. Prates was supposed to fight Geoff Neal at UFC 314, but after the American had to pull out, the UFC pushed Prates two weeks to face Garry at UFC Kansas City. It’s a highly anticipated bout, and in the lead-up, Garry accused Prates of being a quitter and vowed to finish him.

Ian Machado Garry doesn’t think Carlos Prates will dig deep if the going gets tough. Garry is set to headline UFC Kansas City on April 26 against Prates in an intriguing welterweight scrap. Heading into the fight, Garry believes that if he can bring Prates into a dog fight, he will quit as that is who he is as a fighter.

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping thinks the new UFC Kansas main event between Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates is a home run in terms of matchmaking. The original headliner for the card was set to be a battle between former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree. That fight will have to wait, as Hill was pulled from the event due to an injury. As a result, Rountree has also been pulled from UFC Kansas.

Rising UFC star Carlos Prates has shared his prediction for the welterweight title fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. Muhammad and Maddalena are set to collide in the main event of UFC 315 on May 10. The championship fight will be held inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It’ll be Muhammad’s first attempt at a successful UFC title defense. As for Maddalena, this will be his first UFC championship fight.

Prates, one of the fastest-rising stars in the UFC welterweight division, knocked out Neil Magny on Saturday at UFC Vegas 100. He’s unbeaten in his UFC tenure through four fights after earning a spot via Dana White’s Contender Series last year.

The UFC returned to the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada for the final time in 2024 for UFC Vegas 100 which saw Carlos Prates take on Neil Mgany in the main event. Prates entered the fight coming off a knockout win over Li Jingliang as the Brazilian was 3-0 in the UFC with all three fights this year. Magny, meanwhile, was coming off a first-round knockout loss to Michael Morales.

Prates is fresh off a first-round knockout victory over Neil Magny this past Saturday. He will be making his way to the official UFC rankings with the next update.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 100 event was headlined by a welterweight bout between Carlos Prates and Neil Magny. Prates (21-6 MMA) was returning to action for the first time since scoring a highlight reel KO over Jingliang Li this past August at UFC 305 (see that here). The Brazilian standout had gone a perfect 3-0 in his first three assignments with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, scoring finishes in all three of those fights.
