UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush isn’t happy with Charles Oliveira’s callout of Conor McGregor. Dariush has been on the shelf since a win over Tony Ferguson last May. He was then scheduled to face Islam Makhachev earlier this year. However, the fight fell through after Dariush pulled out due to injury.

UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush doesn’t like the uncertainty at the top of 155 pounds. The 33-year-old has been out of action since a decision victory over Tony Ferguson in May 2021. He was set for a showdown with Islam Makhachev earlier this year but was forced out due to injury.

UFC lightweight Charles Oliveira has revealed his plans for the rest of the year. ‘Do Bronx’ is fresh off his headlining role against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274. The bout was supposed to be Oliveira’s second title defense, but he was stripped of his title after missing weight. He wound up winning the bout via first-round submission.

Chael Sonnen is taking to his social media platform to encourage fight fans to rally behind Beneil Dariush to get another UFC main even slot once he’s recovered from his injury. Beneil Dariush (21-4 MMA) was scheduled to fight Islam Makhachev (21-1 MMA) at UFC Vegas this coming weekend, Saturday February 26th. However, due to an injury sustained while training, Dariush had to pull out of the fight.

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland has echoed Marvin Vettori by confirming that Beneil Dariush is legitimately injured. Next Saturday’s Fight Night main event was supposed to see Beneil Dariush take on Islam Makhachev in an important lightweight clash, with many believing the winner would earn themselves a shot at the title. Alas, an injury to Dariush has ruled him out of the contest, with Bobby Green now stepping in on short notice to try and stop the surge of Makhachev.

Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush will not be fighting next Saturday night after all. According to MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani and later confirmed by sources to BJPENN, Dariush suffered an injury and has been forced out of the fight. It’s uncertain if Makhachev will remain on the card or if another fight will headline next Saturday’s event.

Dariush vs. Makhachev was recently announced to be the headliner of the UFC Fight Night card that is set to take place on February 26. By all accounts, this will be a No. 1 contender fight at 155lbs, with the winner getting a title shot later in 2022 after Justin Gaethje gets his. On paper, this fight between Dariush and Makhachev looks like it has the chance to be a lot of fun, especially if it goes to the ground where both men are among the best.

Hooker managed to get back on the winning trail last weekend with a nice win over Nasrat Haqparast in Las Vegas. He had to rely on his wrestling to do it but after going through such a gruelling process just to get to fight night, it made sense that “Hangman” wanted to do everything in his power to ensure he walked away with the win.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk hooked up UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush with a free rental car following his recent UFC 262 callout. Dariush dominated Tony Ferguson for 15 minutes at last Saturday’s UFC 262 event for the biggest win of his career. During his post-fight interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Dariush used it as an opportunity not to call out another contender in the division, but rather Musk, the CEO of the Tesla electric car company. According to Dariush, he ordered a new Tesla car for his pregnant wife earlier this year but the car keeps being delayed. It led to “Benny” jokingly calling out Musk in his post-fight interview following the Ferguson win.

Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira and Beneil Dariush both picked up the biggest victories of their respective careers at UFC 262. Could they see each other in the Octagon next? Directly prior to Oliveira’s vacant lightweight title bout with Michael Chandler, Dariush went out and dispatched of “El Cucuy” Tony Ferguson. The win extended his current streak to seven in a row and launched the Iran native to No. 3 in the UFC rankings.

Following UFC 262, the promotion’s official rankings were updated and Beneil Dariush soared at lightweight while Tony Ferguson plummeted. Beneil Dariush absolutely dominated Ferguson for 15 minutes in the UFC 262 co-main event with his grappling en route to a lopsided unanimous decision win. Dariush has now won his last seven fights in a row and appears to be a serious title contender at 155lbs. The UFC rankings panelists have noticed his run, too, as following the win over Ferguson, Dariush made a huge jump in the promotion’s official rankings. He jumped up six spots in the ranking and now sits firmly entrenched in the top-five of 155lbs, ranked at No. 3 now.

Dariush enjoyed the biggest win of his career last weekend as he emphatically beat Tony Ferguson in a three-round battle down in Texas. It gives Dariush the boost he needs in the division, but it also leaves Ferguson with many questions regarding his future.

UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson issued a statement following his lopsided unanimous decision loss to Beneil Dariush at UFC 262. Ferguson was taken down at will and controlled on the ground by Dariush for nearly the entire 15 minutes of the fight. At age 37, “El Cucuy” appears to have lost a serious step in his MMA game. He has now lost three straight fights to Dariush, Charles Oliveira, and Justin Gaethje, and he lost every single round in all three of those fights. While it wasn’t that long ago that Ferguson was one of the best lightweights in the world, it appears as though he is on a decline and is no longer the championship-level fighter he once was.
