The controversial ending to the UFC 321 pay-per-view has led to one bonus snatcher giving athletic commissions an earful. The main event of the UFC 321 card ended in disappointing fashion when Tom Aspinall couldn’t continue fighting due to an accidental double eye poke. It was a heavyweight title fight against Ciryl Gane that will now have to be booked again.

Jones actually defeated Gane to capture the heavyweight gold back in 2023. “Bones” was scheduled to defend the championship later that year against Stipe Miocic, but he suffered an injury. Meanwhile, Tom Aspinall captured the interim title and called for a unification bout against Jones. Instead, UFC went through with Jones vs. Miocic in late 2024, which “Bones” won via TKO. After mulling things over for several more months, Jones decided to retire from pro MMA competition.

Fotsing, still just 22, has yet to make his pro MMA debut, but is already off to an excellent start in his combat sports career. The Cameroonian-Parisian is an accomplished BJJ black belt, and has two amateur MMA wins to his credit: a second-round submission win, and a unanimous decision win, both in 2021. Since those amateur fights, he’s been fine-tuning his skills with Gane and coach Fernand Lopez, and there is no question he will be a terrifying challenge for whomever he next meets in the cage.
