Late in the first round, Matthews sunk in a guillotine choke, and with one second left, the ref stopped the fight. However, Magny popped right back up and protested, which led to the ref ruling he never actually stopped the fight, and that the bout would continue. Matthews had a solid second round, but Magny rallied and submitted the Aussie in the third round for a comeback win, which resulted in plenty of controversy.

Colby Thicknesse is looking to get his first UFC win and prove he belongs at UFC Perth. Thicknesse made his debut on short notice at UFC 312 when he dropped a decision to Aleksandre Topuria. After the fight, the UFC quickly told him he would get another fight and is glad he’s fighting back home in Australia at UFC Perth.

Jimmy Crute is excited to fight back at home in Australia at UFC Perth. Crute returned to the win column back in July with a first-round submission win over Marcin Prachnio. It was his first win since October of 2020, as he was 0-3-2 since then. So, when he finally got his hand raised, Crute says it was a major weight off his shoulders.
