Antonio Tarver will not be boxing Frank Mir on April 17. Tarver, the former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion, was set to fight for the first time since 2015. However, according to ESPN,  Tarver, 52, did not meet the requirements to compete put forth by the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission, per commission executive director Matt Woodruff.

Toney, a longtime boxer who also fought Randy Couture in MMA at UFC 118, hopes to be Tyson’s opponent when he competes in his next exhibition bout. “Iron Mike” recently revealed that he is planning on fighting again at the Hard Rock Stadium on May 29 in Miami, a few months after he fought to a draw against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition boxing match, his first action in 15 years. The 54-year-old Tyson looked sharp against Jones Jr. and he wants to get back into the ring soon, though his opponent hasn’t been revealed.

Heavyweight boxing superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have officially signed a contract for two boxing matches between the rivals. ESPN’s Mark Kriegel confirmed with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn that both Fury and Joshua have put pen to paper for two boxing matches. There are still more details that need to be ironed out, such as the location and venue, but today’s news that both boxers have signed off on the fight puts the matchup one step closer to becoming a reality.

Boxing legend ‘Marvelous’ Marvin Hagler has passed away at the age of 66, this according to his wife Kay G. Hagler. The middleweight southpaw, Hagler (62-3-2), was the undisputed champion between 1980 and 1987. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame following his retirement in 1988.
