Manny Pacquiao and his team feel there’s no longer any demand for a boxing match with former two-division UFC champ Conor McGregor. Heading into his UFC 257 fight with Dustin Poirier, McGregor was linked to a boxing match with Manny Pacquiao sometime later in the year. After McGregor lost to Poirier via second-round TKO, however, interest in the matchup has waned.

Boxing star Ryan Garcia confirmed that he is set to take on legend Manny Pacquiao in an upcoming superfight between two of the sport’s elite. On Sunday evening, Garcia confirmed the rumors on his social media that he will be taking on Pacquiao. Mike Coppinger of The Athletic previously reported that this fight was making headway. Audie Attar, the manager behind Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao, believes Floyd Mayweather would lose to both men if he fought them in 2020. Mayweather holds wins over both Pacquiao and McGregor. He fought Pacquiao in 2015, winning a decision in a fight that was widely panned for its lack of action. He then fought McGregor in 2017, in the UFC star’s boxing debut, and picked up a 10th-round TKO win.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor believes there is a “very high probability” of the Irishman boxing against the legend Manny Pacquiao in 2021. McGregor returns to the Octagon for the first time in a year next weekend at UFC 257 when he takes on rival Dustin Poirier in the main event of the evening. On Saturday night, Manny Pacquiao defeated Keith Thurman via split decision to become the new WBA welterweight champion. It was the third win in a row for Pacquiao, who at age 40 doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. As soon as the fight was over, there was already talk of a potential rematch against fellow boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao and Mayweather met back in 2015 in what turned out to be one of the biggest money fights of all time in combat sports. The fight itself wasn’t anything special, and Mayweather got his hand raised by unanimous decision in what was a disappointing fight for fans who wanted to be more entertained. However, there’s been talk of a rematch ever since then due to the potential riches, and now that Pacquiao has beaten Thurman, expect those talks to ramp up again.

The now 40-year-old Filipino Icon, Pacquiao (61-7-2), wass coming off a pair of dominant victories over Lucas Matthysse and Adrien Broner. ‘Pacman’ is the only fighter in boxing history to hold title in eight different weight classes, and was looking to add to that list when he squared off with Thurman this evening.

Late last week, RIZIN Fighting Federation boss Nobuyuki Sakakibara hinted at a deal with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. Sakakibara suggested that Pacquiao’s dealings with RIZIN would be linked to the April 21 RIZIN 15 card, now less than two weeks away, so a fight seemed unlikely from the get-go.

In the weeks leading up to this exhibition bout — and really, until the very point the contest began — Floyd Mayweather looked like he was taking it all about as seriously as a walk to the bank (in the eyes of some fans, it wasn’t much more than that). Once the action began, however, the American boxer cranked up the offense, punishing his much smaller opponent with ferocious power shots the likes of which he hasn’t thrown in years. Suddenly, it seemed as though he was taking the fight very seriously.
