Tonight’s UFC Austin event is co-headlined by a welterweight contest featuring Tim Means taking on Kevin Holland. Means (32-12-1 MMA) will enter the contest on a three-fight winning streak, his latest being a decision victory over Nicolas Dalby. Prior to that, ‘The Dirty Bird’ had outpointed Mike Perry at UFC 255.

UFC welterweight Kevin Holland is one of a kind. ‘Big Mouth’ announced he is fighting Tim Means in June. The 29-year-old was last seen in action at UFC 272 in March, knocking out Alex Oliveira. The victory was an important fight for Holland. The knockout got him back into the win column following a three-fight unbeaten streak.

UFC welterweight Mike Perry doesn’t seem to be taking his loss to Tim Means all that hard based on his recent actions on social media. Perry caused quite a stir last week after missing weight by a significant amount in the build-up to his bout with Means. “Platinum” decided to send some taunts to his opponent which wound up backfiring, because in the fight, Means outclassed Perry to claim a unanimous decision.

Tim Means got a significant chunk of unexpected cash when his latest opponent “Platinum” Mike Perry missed weight for their fight. Means and Perry collided on the main card of UFC 255 last Saturday in Las Vegas. While Perry missed the contracted 171-pound welterweight limit by a significant 4.5 pounds, Means wasn’t too bothered, as the scale fail meant he’d receive 30% of his rival’s purse.

Perry, who was initially scheduled to fight Robbie Lawler at UFC 255, will now lock horns with veteran Tim Means as he attempts to keep building momentum following his unanimous decision win over Mickey Gall earlier this year.

UFC welterweight Tim Means is at the top of the payout list for promotional guidelines following UFC Vegas 6 this past weekend. The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay comes from a detailed program including outfitting requirements, media obligations and a string of other points that fall under the UFC fighter code of conduct. Prior to it being introduced, payments were submitted under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

UFC Fight Night 106 Results: Alex Oliveira submits Tim Means

A welterweight clash between Tim Means and Alex Oliveira kicked off tonight’s UFC Fight Night 106 main card in Brazil. Round one begins and Oliveira lands a body kick to start. Means presses forward but misses with a kick of his own. Tim chases after Alex and presses him against the cage. Oliveira turns off the cage and scores a trip. Means working from his back. Oliveira scores with an elbow. Means scrambles and gets to his feet. Oliveira jumps on the back and he lifts Means up and slams him to the floor. Means scrambles up, but Oliveira again drags him to the floor Means rolls and winds up in side control with a little less than 90 seconds left. Means with some short shots but nothing big. Round one comes to an end.

USADA gives six-month suspension to UFC fighter after testing positive for banned substance

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency came to an agreement for the suspension of a UFC welterweight fighter after testing positive for a banned substance. Tim Means (25-7-1) and USADA agreed on a six-month suspension after Means tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in a Jan. 21 out-of-competition test.

Another UFC veteran has been flagged by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). UFC welterweight Tim Means has been flagged by USADA for a “potential Anti-Doping Policy violation” from an out of competition drug testing. Means was scheduled to welcome former lightweight title contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone to the welterweight division at UFC Fight Night 83 on Feb. 21 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
