Weili Zhang has revealed what Joanna Jedrzejczyk said to her during their face-off ahead of tonight’s UFC 275 event. Zhang (21-3 MMA) and Jedrzejczyk (16-4 MMA) will meet for a second time this evening in Singapore. The pair originally collided back at UFC 248 in March of 2020, with ‘Magnum’ emerging victorious by way of split-decision in a thrilling “Fight of the Year” performance.

Julianna Pena believes she “lit a gas can of fire right underneath” the behind of Amanda Nunes with her upset win at UFC 269. Pena (11-4 MMA) captured the promotions women’s bantamweight title with a second round submission victory over Nunes (21-5 MMA) last December (see that here). It was a stunning upset in terms of betting odds, but one that did not come as a surprise to ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ and her supporters.
UFC interim welterweight title?

One of the UFC’s top welterweight fighters believes an interim title is “the right thing to do” given the absence of champion Kamaru Usman. Usman (20-1 MMA), the promotions reigning welterweight champion, has not competed since scoring a decision victory over Colby Covington at November’s UFC 268 event. Following his fifth consecutive defense of the 170lbs title, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ revealed that he was suffering from a broken hand that required surgery.

Dana White was live on the air when he learned that UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo was threatening to leave the division. Four days ago, Figueiredo (21-2-1 MMA) revealed that he was ‘very upset’ with the UFC for creating an interim flyweight title. In speaking with ‘MMA fighting‘ the reigning UFC flyweight champion said:

Damon Jackson thought Darrick Minner wouldn’t make it to the fight. Jackson was supposed to face Minner and even before the fight, he was vocal in thinking Minner would pull out. On fight week that ended up being the case and Daniel Argueta stepped up on short notice. Although Jackson cruised to a decision win, he was disappointed in his performance overall.
