UFC bantamweight contenders Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili will reportedly meet next year. ‘Triple C’ has been out of action since his long-awaited return in May against Aljamain Sterling. The fight was Henry Cejudo’s first in over three years and he suffered a close decision defeat. Following the defeat, he called out ‘The Funk Master’s teammate, Merab Dvalishvili, for a title-eliminator bout. However, the former champion was later booked for a canceled fight with Marlon Vera.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is interested in knowing what Dana White thought of his boxing match against Tyson Fury. Earlier this year, the UFC announced that Ngannou would be released from his deal, as the two sides did not see eye-to-eye. Throughout Ngannou’s contract negotiation, he and White were not getting along, and when he became a free agent, the UFC CEO wasn’t thrilled with his former champ.

Conor McGregor is saying he can ‘relate’ to Alexander Volkanovski’s comments about needing to stay active. It was a week ago, at UFC 294, that Alexander Volkanovski (26-3 MMA) took a fight (on late notice) with Islam Makhachev (25-1 MMA) and was defeated by KO at 3:06 of Round 1. While not the outcome the 35 year old had hoped for, he spoke about how important it is for him to stay active in the cage.

Fight fans were recently thrown for a loop when former UFC heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou pushed Tyson Fury to the limit during their recent boxing match. Ngannou even scored a knockdown on “The Gypsy King.” While “The Predator” lost the bout via split decision, many argue that he was the true winner coming out of that fight.

Tom Aspinall has opened as the betting underdog for his interim heavyweight title fight against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295. Originally, the main event of UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden was supposed to be Jon Jones defending his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. Yet, just over two weeks out from the event it was revealed that Jones suffered a torn pec and was forced out of the fight.

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman doesn’t know what his next step will be. Usman stepped up on less than two weeks’ notice at UFC 294 as he moved up to middleweight to face Khamzat Chimaev. Usman entered that fight coming off back-to-back losses to Leon Edwards to lose his welterweight title, so he decided to move up to middleweight.

Heading into UFC 295, the promotion’s heavyweight division is a bit of a mess. Jon Jones was initially scheduled to defend his undisputed belt against Stipe Miocic in the main event, but an injury has forced him out. Now, instead, we’ll see Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall competing for the interim championship in the co-main event.
