One of UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones’ signature moves is the crawl he makes when he enters the Octagon, and he recently explained why he does it. The first time Jones did the crawl was before he fought Quinton “Rampage” Jackson back at UFC 135 in September 2011. Jones recently admitted that he had nightmares before fighting Jackson and said it was one of the only fights in his career that gave him any sort of fear before he stepped into the Octagon.

UFC light heavyweight legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua has issued a statement following a split draw against Paul Craig at UFC Sao Paulo. Rua and Craig went toe-to-toe for 15 minutes and put on a great fight for the fans. At the end of three rounds, the judges scored the fight 29-28 Rua, 28-29 Craig and 28-28 for a rare split draw. It was a very close fight that could have gone either way.

UFC light heavyweight contender Jan Blachowicz called for a title shot against UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones following his split decision win over Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in the main event of UFC Sao Paulo. Blachowicz was awarded a split decision by the judges after a very careful fight against Souza, one that was universally panned as a boring matchup by fans, media and fellow fighters. Despite not putting on an exciting performance, Blachowicz still believes he’s done enough to earn a title shot against the champ Jones.

UFC light heavyweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has issued a statement following a split decision loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC Sao Paulo. Souza and Blachowicz spent 25 minutes in the cage, resulting in an ugly fight that didn’t please fans, media or their fellow fighters. At the end of the five rounds, Blachowicz was awarded the victory via split decision, and Souza was not happy with the outcome as he believed he did enough to get his hand raised.

The beautiful city of Sao Paulo served as the backdrop for UFC Fight Night 164, where a journeyman came face-to-face with a beloved MMA legend. Craig (12-4) was coming off a submission victory over Vinicius Moreira back in September at UFC Fight Night 159. Not only did the victory serve as a bounce-back performance after a jarring knockout loss to Alonzo Menifield, but it marked his fourth win under the UFC banner and brought his overall UFC record up to 4-4.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley believes the UFC will make an offer to YouTuber Logan Paul and try to sign him to fight in the Octagon. Paul recently fought his rival KSI in a boxing match that was streamed live on DAZN, losing a controversial split decision after two points were taken from him for an illegal blow. After the fight KSI suggested that Paul move to MMA to take on CM Punk, and Paul told TMZ earlier this week that his goal now is to fight CM Punk in either the UFC or Bellator. The sportsbooks have even opened a betting line for a possible Paul vs. CM Punk matchup.
Rich Franklin would 'love' to fight Anderson Silva again

Rich Franklin retired from MMA following his knockout loss to Cung Lee in 2012. Yet, the now ONE Championship vice president says he still eyes one more fight, and that is a trilogy bout with Anderson Silva. Franklin and Silva fought at UFC 64 where Silva won by TKO to become the middleweight champion. The pair would collide again at UFC 77 where it was the same result. Although they are both now in their 40’s, Franklin being 45 and Silva being 44, the American believes the fight makes sense and knows it would be a different result.
Commission issues weight corrections after scale error at UFC Sao Paulo weigh-ins

Initially, it looked as though a whopping three fighters had missed weight for Saturday’s UFC Sao Paulo card, including bantamweight opponents Tracy Cortez and Vanessa Melo. After the weigh-ins had wrapped up, however, the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) announced that the scale was not properly calibrated for the UFC Sao Paulo weigh-ins and that a correction had been made. As a result, Tracy Cortez and Vanessa Melo’s weights were adjusted to 136 pounds apiece.

This weekend, in the co-main event of UFC Sao Paulo, former UFC light heavyweight champion and irrefutable MMA legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will return to the Octagon. The Brazilian will take on Scotland’s Paul Craig, who has stepped into replace the injured Sam Alvey. Shogun, now 37, is currently a solid 4-1 in his last five fights, with his lone loss coming against future title challenger Anthony Smith. Despite this recent success, he has confirmed to MMA Fighting that he intends to retire, and retire soon.

Although at first a potential Miocic vs. Fury fight seemed like a pipe dream, the matchup seems to have picked up traction in recent days.
