A potential fight between former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and The Ultimate Fighter season 1 winner Diego Sanchez is gaining steam. Sanchez, who meets Jake Matthews on the the prelims of tomorrow night’s UFC 253 event, called for a fight with McGregor earlier this week, identifying it as the ideal matchup for the final fight of his legendary career.

Uriah Hall has taken a shot at his previously scheduled opponent Yoel Romero, this while suggesting that their fight fell through in part to Jon Jones. Hall was slated to square off with Romero in a middleweight bout at last month’s UFC Vegas 7 event. However, ‘The Soldier of God’ wound up withdrawing from the contest due to undisclosed reasons.

After May 23, 2019, Damon Jackson thought his chances of getting back to the UFC were over. Jackson, who had three fights in the UFC from 2014-2016 and did not get a win and was cut, fought in LFA hoping to get another crack. Yet, after years of trying nothing came up. So, Jackson signed with the PFL and hoped winning the tournament would open that door again. However, in his first fight, he was knocked out by Movlid Khaibulaev in just 10 seconds by a flying knee. He was then pulled from the tournament and he asked for his release.

Nam, who was once considered one of the best fighters not signed to the UFC, made his debut in 2019 and dropped a decision to Sergio Pettis. Nam then lost his next fight to Kai Kara-France but has since rallied off back-to-back KO wins.

The betting odds have been released by the sportsbooks for a potential boxing match between Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao. Ever since he delved into the world of boxing for the Floyd Mayweather superfight, McGregor has been tied to a boxing match with Pacquiao, but nothing has ever come from it. On Friday, McGregor took to his social media to claim that his next fight will be a boxing match against Pacquiao. McGregor hasn’t fought since knocking out Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 earlier this year but appears to be itching to get back in the ring.

UFC women’s double champion Amanda Nunes and her partner, UFC women’s strawweight Nina Ansaroff, welcomed their newborn daughter on Friday. Raegan Ann Nunes was welcomed into the world on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 7:15 a.m. EST. Nunes broke the good news on her social media and posted a photo of the happy couple holding their daughter in her hospital bed.

Diego Sanchez is very impressed by the way Paulo Costa cut down to the 185-pound limit for his middleweight title fight with Israel Adesanya at UFC 253. Despite walking around at well over 200 pounds, Costa was the first fighter on the scale for the UFC 253 weigh-ins this morning. The middleweight title challenger also didn’t appear to be particularly depleted from his cut down to 185 pounds.

UFC president Dana White provided an update on what could be next for former UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The Poland native last fought at UFC 248 in March where she lost a razor-thin split decision to champion Weili Zhang in one of the best MMA fights of all time. Both women took a lot of damage in the fight and unfortunately neither of them has been able to get back into the Octagon since their war. With the fight now six months in the rearview mirror, the UFC hopes to get both fighters back in the Octagon shortly.

Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson says that he “would love” to step into the ring and box Anthony Joshua if it was for charity. Tyson is set to make his return to the ring in November when he takes on Roy Jones Jr. in a heavyweight exhibition match between two legends of the sport. Although Tyson is 54 years old and hasn’t fought since 2005, he has been sharing plenty of videos of his training camp and he appears to be in incredible shape for his comeback.
