Patricio Pitbull has made it known, he wants a cross-promotional fight against Alex Volkanovski. Pitbull is the current featherweight and lightweight champion in Bellator while Volkanovski holds UFC gold at featherweight. Both men have taken shots at one another on social media, and Pitbull has called for the fight to happen. Yet, he doesn’t believe it will happen.

Eddie Alvarez has laughed off claims from Iuri Lapicus that the youngster will “end his career” when they clash at ONE on TNT 1. The two men will meet in a lightweight showdown on April 7 with the winner, more than likely, getting a title shot against Christian Lee – even though Lapicus’ last fight was a defeat at the hands of Lee back in October.

Veteran boxing coach Jason Parillo said that middleweight Luke Rockhold is “one of the most gifted fighters that’s ever entered the UFC.” The former UFC middleweight champion is geared to make a comeback to the Octagon after taking two years off following a brutal KO loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239. Since then, Rockhold has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has kept him on the shelf. But now that he’s starting to feel better, we have seen Rockhold in the RVCA in Costa Mesa, California, training under the tutelage of Parillo and alongside his former rival Michael Bisping. The hope is that Rockhold will be able to make a comeback this summer at 185lbs.

Ben Askren continued to jab at Jorge Masvidal, saying that “I can’t stand Colby, but let’s be real fake street Jesus was afraid to fight him.” Askren and Masvidal first met back at UFC 239 in July 2019, and “Gamebred” finished that fight with a five-second flying knee to become a global superstar. Ever since then, the two have continued to talk trash to each other on social media here-and-there. But now that Askren is back in the spotlight with the boxing match against Jake Paul just around the corner, the past rivalry between Askren and Masvidal seems to have been re-ignited. After Masvidal appeared on FaceTime at a recent Asken vs. Paul press conference to troll his longtime rival, Askren took another shot at Masvidal on social media. The cycle continues.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken a shot at Tony Ferguson. Ever since they were first booked to fight one another, Ferguson has been trash-talking Nurmagomedov. Then, after the lightweight champ retired from the sport in October, “El Cucuy” blasted him for not fighting him and has claimed Nurmagomedov retired 29-1. However, Nurmagomedov doesn’t appear to think that is true as he blasted Ferguson for focusing on him instead of Beneil Dariush.

Emmanuel Sanchez is eager to show how much he improved since November 15, 2018. On that date, Sanchez lost a decision to Patricio Pitbull for the featherweight title. It was a back-and-forth fight with both men hurting the other. Since the fight, both men have gone undefeated with Pitbull winning the lightweight title as well. But, in the main event of Bellator 255, which serves as the semifinals of the featherweight grand prix, Sanchez is eager to exact his revenge.

UFC welterweight superstar Nate Diaz took to social media to take another shot at Conor McGregor and he also took aim at Dustin Poirier. Diaz and Poirier were supposed to meet at UFC 230 in November 2018 but “The Diamond” was forced to pull out with injury. They never ended up meeting, but after Poirier defeated McGregor at UFC 257 in January, Diaz suggested that the fight to make was him against Poirier. However, that fight never happened, either, as McGregor and Poirier will run it back for a third time this summer at UFC 264. Diaz, meanwhile, was recently booked for his comeback fight against Leon Edwards in the co-main event of UFC 262 in May in Houston.

UFC fan favorite Nate Diaz clapped back at promotional superstar Conor McGregor, telling him to “try not to get finished again.” It was revealed on Tuesday evening that Diaz will be returning to the UFC on May 15 at UFC 262 in Houston, Texas when he takes on Leon Edwards in a No. 1 contender fight in the UFC welterweight division. On Wednesday, McGregor took to his social media to suggest that the promotion creates a “McGregor belt” for his upcoming trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July, clearly a jab at the “BMF belt” that Diaz and Jorge Masvidal fought for at UFC 244 in November 2019. That, in turn, led to Diaz taking to his social media and clapping back at McGregor and poking fun at him for getting finished.

UFC heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis reacted to the news that Jon Jones wants $8 to $10 million to fight Francis Ngannou. Jones posted a series of tweets on Wednesday in which he said he told UFC executive Hunter Campbell that $10 million would be “way too low” for a fight against Ngannou, which on paper stands to be one of the biggest blockbuster super fights the promotion could ever put on. Both Jones and Ngannou are in the primes of their MMA careers right now and the fight between two of the promotion’s biggest stars sells itself. And yet, the UFC doesn’t seem willing to yet match Jones’ demands as far as the money goes.

UFC superstar Jon Jones says that he told the UFC $8 to $10 million dollars would be too low for a mega-fight against Francis Ngannou. In a series of tweets posted to his social media on Wednesday, Jones said that he told UFC executive Hunter Campbell that he wants more than $10 million dollars to fight Ngannou. In addition, Jones said that believes he’s been underpaid throughout his entire career and is hoping to finally get paid what he believes is right to take on Ngannou at heavyweight. Dominick Cruz didn’t ask for the Sean O’Malley fight after all. At the UFC 260 post-fight show, Chael Sonnen said Cruz texted him that he wanted the O’Malley fight. It immediately caught the attention of many UFC fans who became interested in the fight. O’Malley also was interested in the fight, but according to the former UFC bantamweight champion, he never even called for the scrap.
Conor McGregor asks UFC to create "The McGregor Belt" for Dustin Poirier trilogy at UFC 264

UFC superstar Conor McGregor asked the world’s leading promotion to create a new “McGregor Belt” for the Dustin Poirier trilogy at UFC 264. McGregor takes on Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10 as the two rivals meet for a third and likely final time inside the Octagon. The first time these two met was back at UFC 178 in September 2014, with McGregor getting the better of Poirier en route to a first-round knockout win. They met again nearly seven years later at UFC 257 in January 2021, with Poirier returning the favor with a second-round knockout over the Irishman. They will look to end their feud once and for all this summer when they meet in their trilogy matchup.
