Holly Holm out of main event fight against Norma Dumont

Holly Holm is out of her fight against Norma Dumont which was supposed to headline next week’s Fight Night card. According to MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani, Holm suffered a knee injury that forced her out of her featherweight fight against Dumont at UFC Vegas 40 on October 16. The card had already taken some hits as Miesha Tate vs. Ketlen Vieira was postponed so it’s now uncertain what will headline the card. Holm, however, is hoping to return by the end of the year.

Tyson Fury says he’d force Tommy Fury to change his last name if he loses to Jake Paul if they were to box. Tommy is Tyson’s half-brother and is also a boxer but is also a social media star after he went on Love Island. Although he is a Fury, he’s only 7-0 and the level of competition has not been the best. However, he has been linked to a fight with Paul and if it happens and if Tommy loses, Tyson says he’d force his brother to retire.

Tyson Fury is excited to share the ring with Deontay Wilder again as he generally doesn’t like him. Fury and Wilder first met in 2018 with the fight ending in a draw. They then had their rematch in February of 2020 where Fury dominated the fight and earned a TKO win. Now, ahead of their trilogy match on Saturday in Las Vegas, Fury says Wilder is a piece of s**t and plans to KO him again.

UFC legend BJ Penn has confirmed his intention to run for Governor of Hawaii following some suggestive posts on social media. Penn, 42, a former two-division UFC champion, hinted at making a run for office earlier this week. Now, in an interview with his manager Chris Taylor, ‘The Prodigy’ confirmed his intentions to run for governor in his native Hawaii.

Former Bellator lightweight champion Patricio Pitbull issued a statement after he decided to vacate his title belt at 155lbs. Pitbull announced on social media on Wednesday in a statement that he is vacating the Bellator lightweight title. Bellator president Scott Coker told The MMA Hour that with the title being vacated, Pitbull’s brother Patricky will now get the vacant title shot. He will meet Peter Queally in a rematch for the belt at Bellator 270 on November 5 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. In his statement, Pitbull explained his decision to give up his belt at 155lbs.

UFC president Dana White says that UFC fighters do not want the media or fans to know how much money they make with the company. Fighter pay is often a touchy topic with White and the UFC. There have been lots of stories about UFC fighters being paid poorly as of late, and boxer Jake Paul has been leading the charge to get the fighters a bigger percentage of the UFC’s revenue pie. Despite the numbers saying otherwise, White has remained adamant that UFC fighters are paid quite well. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why White says the fighters want their numbers private despite there being fans and media who are curious as to what they make.

Clark fought Cutelaba last month and suffered a horrendous injury when his teeth were smashed from a vicious knee. Despite his teeth being broken, Clark decided to continue fighting and toughed it out, going the distance and even winning the last round on two of the judges’ scorecards. While Clark lost the unanimous decision to Cutelaba, he gained the respect of the fans by battling through one of the nastiest teeth injuries we’ve ever seen.

Two title fights featuring Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane and Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker 2 are being targeted for UFC 270. According to the French outlet “La Sueur,” UFC 270 is being planned to take place on January 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight is not official yet, but the UFC plans on having the UFC heavyweight title unified that night between the champ Ngannou and the interim champ Gane. As for the co-main event, the plan is to have to rematch between Adesanya and Whittaker. Cejudo is officially retired from combat sports but he remains in the game in other ways. On Tuesday, “The Messenger” took to his social media to reveal that he is taking his talents to Hollywood. According to Cejudo, he is the executive producer of the new combat sports movie “In Full Bloom,” and the former UFC double champion wants his fans to watch it.

Volkanovski defeated Brian Ortega at UFC 266 last month to mark his latest title defense at 145lbs. Following the fight, Cejudo made it clear that he wants a piece of the champ. “The Messenger” has called out “The Great” in the past for a fight, but until now, White hasn’t taken his calls for the fight seriously. However, Cejudo said that he has a meeting with White this week to talk about the fight, and the UFC president admitted that the two will have a chat about the Volkanovski fight. However, White calls it “a tough conversation.”
