Brendan Schaub on Joe Rogan’s absence from UFC 271: “I will never ever talk s**t about Dana White again”

Following UFC 271 last Saturday, February 12th Brendan Schaub did a recap on his ‘The Schaub Show’ podcast on YouTube. Schaub spoke about UFC President, Dana White, and vowed to never ‘talk sh*t about Dana White again’. Schaub (10-5 MMA) officially retired from the UFC back in 2015. Since then he has gone on to perform stand-up comedy and is currently active as a podcast host.

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland has echoed Marvin Vettori by confirming that Beneil Dariush is legitimately injured. Next Saturday’s Fight Night main event was supposed to see Beneil Dariush take on Islam Makhachev in an important lightweight clash, with many believing the winner would earn themselves a shot at the title. Alas, an injury to Dariush has ruled him out of the contest, with Bobby Green now stepping in on short notice to try and stop the surge of Makhachev.
Spotify’s deal with Joe Rogan is worth double what was originally reported

A recent report has indicated that the deal between Spotify and Joe Rogan is actually worth around $200 million as opposed to $100 million. Over the course of the last few weeks there’s been a lot of talk surrounding the future of Joe Rogan. The controversial podcaster and UFC commentator has come under fire for some of his previous remarks, with the backlash including a viral video of him saying the N-word over and over.

Islam Makhachev is hoping to secure a shot at the belt if he can beat Bobby Green next weekend but beyond that, the looming presence of Conor McGregor can’t be overlooked.

Khamzat Chimaev is doing his best to motivate Darren Till as the pair train together at the Allstars Training Center in Sweden. Chimaev (10-0 MMA), age 27, has taken the UFC by storm since making his Octagon debut in July of 2020. ‘The Wolf’ has scored stoppage wins in all four of his UFC fights, finishing opponents John Phillips, Rhys McKee, Gerald Meerschaert and Li Jingliang along the way.

Jonathan Pearce plans to show Christian Rodriguez that there are levels to this game. Pearce was supposed to fight Austin Lingo at UFC Vegas 48. However, Lingo was forced to withdraw from the contest and the undefeated fighter in Rodriguez stepped up. Although Rodriguez is undefeated and even won the Contender Series, Pearce doesn’t think he’s on his level and he’ll show that with a first-round finish.

Self-defense “expert” Dale Brown has gone viral on social media over the past year for his unique techniques. He’s now taking his talents to the Octagon but as a cornerman for Joaquin Buckley. The St. Louis native is set to square off with Abdul Razak Alhassan on the main card at UFC Vegas 48 this weekend. Buckley seemingly needed another cornerman for his bout and decided the star of D.U.S.T. was the right man for the job.
Bobby Green says he's the BMF champ of the lightweight division after taking Islam Makhachev fight

Bobby Green didn’t think twice about taking the fight against Islam Makhachev on short notice. Green defeated Nasrat Haqparast by decision at UFC 271 on February 12 and not even a week later, he agreed to headline UFC Vegas 49 on February 19 as he will take on Islam Makhachev. The Dagestani fighter was supposed to face Beneil Dariush, who unfortunately suffered an injury and was forced out of the bout.

Mike Perry and Julian Lane had their press conference for their BKFC bout this weekend. During the event, ‘Platinum’ pulled out a bat during a scuffle with his opponent.. The scuffle wasn’t the first time that the two sides clashed in public. In December, Perry was shown on the broadcast as a guest commentator after his singing to the promotion. Lane threw a water bottle at the former UFC talent and insulted him. Almost immediately, Perry jumped into the crowd and began brawling with Lane.

Tyron Woodley used to train with both Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington so he is well-versed in knowing how they match up against one another. All three welterweights used to train at American Top Team and for Woodley, he believes those past training sessions give Masvidal the advantage. According to “The Chosen One” he says “Gamebred” was the big brother in training and it’s hard to get past that.

Luke Rockhold is hoping to make his return in June against Paulo Costa. Rockhold has not fought since UFC 239 where he suffered a KO loss to Jan Blachowicz in his light heavyweight debut. Since then, he was booked to fight Sean Strickland at UFC 268, but was forced out of the bout due to an injury. Now, the former champion says he wants to face Costa next, as long as the Brazilian can make weight.
UFC light heavyweight Jimmy Crute announces he will be out of action for the rest of the year

Jimmy Crute, (12-3 MMA), currently competes in the light heavyweight division of the UFC. Crute’s last fight was on December 3rd, 2021 at UFC Vegas 44 where he matched up with Jamahal Hill (9-1 MMA). The outcome was a brutal knockout loss with Hill dropping Crute just 48 seconds into the fight.

On Wednesday evening, it was reported that Beneil Dariush was forced out of his UFC Vegas 49 main event fight against Islam Makhachev due to an injury. Now, according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Green has agreed to step up on 10 days’ notice.
