Karolina Kowalkiewicz is finally back in the win column and she has expressed gratitude to her former rival. Kowalkiewicz entered UFC Vegas 56 on a five-fight skid. It had been a steep fall for the former UFC Strawweight Title challenger. Her last victory going into Saturday night was back in 2018 and it was against Felice Herrig.

Never one to let things slide, Chael Sonnen has put his trolling cap on to get at Tito Ortiz. It’s no secret that Sonnen and Ortiz are not chummy. The two fought back in Jan. 2017. Ortiz finished Sonnen with a submission via rear-naked choke. There was a lot of trash talk going into the fight and Ortiz took it personally.

UFC middleweight Paulo Costa has used the recent assault accusations made against him to throw shade at his upcoming opponent Luke Rockhold. Earlier this week it was revealed that Costa (13-2 MMA) had been accused of striking a health care professional at a local medical center after she allegedly refused to issue the fighter an immunization card for the COVID-19 vaccine. The claim is that ‘The Eraser‘ wanted the immunization card without actually getting the vaccine.

The Octagon remained in Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 56 event, a fourteen-bout fight card headlined by Alexander Volkov vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik. As many fans and analysts predicted, tonight’s UFC Vegas 56 main event did not make it out of the first round. Alexander Volkov was able to find success with his kicks in the early moments of the contest, this before ultimately putting Jairzinho Rozenstruik down with a flurry of punches. Referee Herb Dean quickly jumped in to wave off the fight and there was no dispute of any early stoppage coming from the corner of Rozenstruik.

Felice Herrig announced her retirement from MMA immediately following her submission loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz at today’s UFC Vegas 56 event. Herrig (14-10 MMA) returned to action for the first time in two years this afternoon for a rematch with Kowalkiewicz (13-7 MMA). The pair had previously met at UFC 223 in April of 2018, with the ‘Polish Princess’ emerging victorious on points.
Tony Ferguson says he'd beat Charles Oliveira with a "real" training camp

Tony Ferguson believes he’d defeat Charles Oliveira in a rematch if he had a real training camp. Ferguson and Oliveira met back at UFC 256 in December of 2020 and it was the Brazilian winning a one-sided decision. However, after the fight, Ferguson made it clear he didn’t have time to train properly for the bout as it was short notice. With that, he didn’t train grappling and now he has taken to social media to say if he has a real training camp he would beat Oliveira if they were to rematch.

UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon has stated that his next fight could be his last. ‘J-Lau’ was last seen in action in October 2019, stopping Jonathan Pearce in the first round. Following that bout, many questioned if the 38-year-old was retired. He had no bout announcements for nearly three years, before being booked against Donald Cerrone.
