UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has a few options for his next title defense. A rematch with Thiago Santos is possible. Corey Anderson has asserted himself as a top contender. The winner of the upcoming fight between Jan Blachowicz and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will be right there… the list goes on. According to UFC President Dana White, however, undefeated contender Dominick Reyes will probably get the call to fight Jones next. Reyes is riding high on a big knockout of former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and apparently also generated solid viewership numbers for that fight.

Donald Trump made an appearance this weekend at UFC 244 in Madison Square Garden, and the UFC kingpin discussed the importance of the visit post-fight “Tonight wasn’t about how you feel politically about the president,” White said (transcript via MMA Junkie).

UFC analyst Dan Hardy recently alleged that Johnny Walker taunted Corey Anderson backstage before their UFC 244 fight. It did not take Walker long to respond. The light heavyweights collided in a preliminary bout at UFC 244 on Saturday. Anderson dismantled his opponent with a flush of strikes, achieving a first-round TKO win and ending Walker’s 9-fight win streak.

UFC middleweight contender Darren Till has admitted that he contemplated faking an injury in order to get out of his UFC 244 bout with Kelvin Gastelum. Till went head to head with the Ultimate Fighter winner in the co-main event of Saturday night’s co-main event at Madison Square Garden, and he managed to surprise a lot of people by edging out the split decision win against the favourite.

Conor McGregor appears to have called out Jorge Masvidal following last night’s UFC 244 event. In the main event of UFC 244, Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz, a former foe of the Irishman to win the BMF title. Yet, McGregor was not a fan of the fight and the way the fighters acted in the lead up to last night’s bout. Following Masvidal’s win, McGregor took to social media to request a three-piece and a soda.

MMA analyst, Dan Hardy gave his take on the Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz ‘BMF’ brawl on Saturday 2nd November. East vs West collided in a bloody battle in the main event of UFC 244. The fight was eventually stopped at the end of the third round by the doctor, due to cuts above Diaz’ eye. The early stoppage put a dampener on an otherwise explosive fight that was edging towards a five-round showdown.

Corey Anderson proved his worth in the light heavyweight division during his UFC 244 fight. ‘Overtime’ finished Johnny Walker by TKO just over two minutes into the first round, putting an end to his opponent’s 9-fight win streak. The explosive win served as a pinnacle moment for Anderson as he called for a title shot from the UFC or to be released from his contract. He has previously expressed frustration with the promotions company, feeling that he hasn’t received the opportunities he deserves. He said during an interview with MMA Fighting.

To honor the new and unprecedented ‘BMF’ fight at UFC 244, megastar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was there to fill in for Dana White and hand over the belt. However, the main event contender, Nate Diaz, was less than impressed with the decision and threatened to ‘whoop the a**’ of the Hollywood and WWE celebrity. The ‘BMF’ bout between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz ended anti-climatically as the doctor stopped the contest in the third round due to cuts above the right eye of Nate Diaz. By this point Masvidal had maintained a dominant position and ultimately claimed the TKO win.

UFC president Dana White shared a picture of Nate Diaz after receiving stitches following the cuts inflicted by Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC 244. Diaz was cut above and below his right eye, leading to the cage-side doctor to controversially calling an end to the BMF title fight at UFC 244. The cuts didn’t look to be fight ending for those watching on television, but as you can see from the picture below, Diaz suffered quite a bit of damage during the fight. Although he disagreed with the stoppage at the time, following the event White said the doctor made the right call.

UFC middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum has issued a statement following his split decision loss to Darren Till in the co-main event of UFC 244. Gastelum lost a split decision when the judges scored the fight 30-27, 27-30 and 29-28 in favor of Till. The one judge who scored the fight for Gastelum drew the ire of fans, media, and fellow fighters as it appeared as though Till comfortably won on points.

UFC president Dana White said that Nate Diaz won’t get an immediate rematch against Jorge Masvidal after their fight at UFC 244 ended in controversial fashion. Speaking to reporters following UFC 244, White said an immediate rematch will not be in order between Diaz and Masvidal.

New UFC BMF champion Jorge Masvidal was up big on the judges’ scorecards after three rounds in his main event fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 244. The cageside doctor stopped the bout after the third round due to cuts sustained by Diaz, with many fans, media, and fellow fighters arguing it robbed Diaz of a chance to make a comeback. However, it’s clear he would have needed a stoppage now after seeing how far ahead the judges had Masvidal up on the scorecards.
