Michael Bisping shares interest in Darren Till vs. Robbie Lawler fight

Tom Taylor - August 8, 2019

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is putting on his matchmaker hat, and he wants to see a welterweight fight between Darren Till and Robbie Lawler. He discussed the appeal of this matchup on the latest episode of his  Believe You Me podcast, explaining that the timing simply makes sense after Robbie Lawler fell onto a three-fight skid with a loss to Colby Covington last weekend, and Darren Till looks to rebound from two straight stoppage losses.

Michael Bisping says Colby Covington is the real king of cringe

Fernando Quiles Jr. - August 5, 2019

Michael Bisping believes Colby Covington has dethroned Henry Cejudo for the King of Cringe title. Covington had a stellar performance this past Saturday night (Aug. 3). “Chaos” went one-on-one with Robbie Lawler. He was relentless with his pressure throughout the fight and earned a unanimous decision victory over “Ruthless.” With the victory, Covington is now set to challenge UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Michael Bisping: Conor McGregor 'probably hoping and praying' Poirier beats Khabib

Tom Taylor - August 1, 2019

Michael Bisping believes former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor is probably ‘hoping and praying’ that Dustin Poirier dethrones UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 this September. McGregor and Nurmagomedov fought in October of 2018. Nurmagomedov won the fight via fourth-round submission, and McGregor has been campaigning for a do-over ever since. Yet Bisping believes McGregor would probably prefer to see Poirier win, as the Irishman holds a victory over “The Diamond” and could conceivably earn a title fight with him based on that.

Michael Bisping reveals he was injured before GSP fight, claims he'd win rematch

Tom Taylor - July 31, 2019

In late 2017, Michael Bisping attempted to defend the UFC middleweight title opposite returning welterweight legend Georges St-Pierre. Despite an admirable effort, Bisping was ultimately dropped and submitted by his Canadian foe in the waning moments of the third round. Speaking to MMA Junkie during a promotional tour for his new autobiography, Quitters Never Win, Bisping revealed that his performance in this fight was hindered by a rib injury, and claimed that he’d defeat St-Pierre in a rematch.

Michael Bisping says Jorge Masvidal isn't scared to fight Leon Edwards

Fernando Quiles Jr. - July 27, 2019

Michael Bisping doesn’t believe Jorge Masvidal is ducking Leon Edwards in fear. The consensus on a potential welterweight clash between Masvidal and Edwards appears to be split. One side believes that the bout makes sense as the two were involved in a backstage incident back in March that saw Masvidal lay hands on Edwards, causing a cut under his eye. The other side believes that Masvidal’s stock has soared beyond the grudge match and he should be fighting for the 170-pound gold next.

Michael Bisping makes classy comment about struggling Luke Rockhold

Tom Taylor - July 23, 2019

For a time, Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold were two of the most heated rivals in the UFC middleweight division. The two former champions went 1-1 across two bouts, and exchanged plenty of trash talk throughout the time they were intertwined. Today, Michael Bisping is happily retired. Luke Rockhold, on the other hand, has fallen on hard times, losing three of his last four fights — all by knockout. Not even a move up to the light heavyweight division was able to revivify the former champion’s career, as he was knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in his debut in this heavier weight class.

Michael Bisping: Johnny Walker gives Jon Jones 'a lot of problems'

Tom Taylor - July 19, 2019

Despite a less-than-stellar performance against his last opponent Thiago Santos, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones still has the aura of an unbeatable fighter. His offense is as versatile as his defense is impenetrable, and it’s simply difficult to imagine anybody ending his reign. Yet former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes there is one light heavyweight on the UFC roster with the skills and physical tools to threaten the seemingly bulletproof reign of Jon Jones: Johnny Walker.

Michael Bisping says Urijah Faber vs. Henry Cejudo 'would be awesome'

Fernando Quiles Jr. - July 17, 2019

Michael Bisping wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Urijah Faber jump the line in the UFC bantamweight division. Back in Dec. 2016, Faber ended his professional mixed martial arts career. He walked off on his terms, defeating Brad Pickett via unanimous decision in Sacramento. Faber was later inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. For Faber, however, the itch to compete didn’t go away.

Michael Bisping explains how he squashed his beef with 'cool as hell' Jorge Masvidal

Chris Taylor - July 13, 2019

It appears that former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has squashed his beef with surging welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. ‘The Count’ and ‘Gamebred’ had exchanged verbal jabs in the past, this due to Bisping’s rivalry with Masvidal’s friend and training partner Yoel Romero.

Jan Blachowicz explains how Michael Bisping helped him KO Luke Rockhold at UFC 239

Mike Heck - July 9, 2019

When it comes to Luke Rockhold’s recent rollercoaster ride with his fighting career, many point to his middleweight title loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 as the beginning of the downward trajectory. In fact, Jan Blachowicz was able to use a piece of Bisping’s in-fight strategy at UFC 239 to put him in a position to be in his own world title conversation. Blachowicz picked up a big win on Saturday night when he knocked Rockhold out in the second-round. It was a left hook — the same punch Bisping landed on that magical night in June 2016 — that set up the finish.

Michael Bisping believes Francis Ngannou would sleep Jon Jones

Cole Shelton - July 4, 2019

For a long time, many people have been clamoring to see light heavyweight king Jon Jones move up to heavyweight. He has almost cleaned out the entire 205lbs division, and there are plenty of challenges awaiting “Bones” at heavyweight. Most recently, a fight against surging heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou has sparked the interest of fights fans. ‘The Predator’ has been adding to his knockout reel lately, his latest victim being former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.

Michael Bisping understands why Dana White wants Jon Jones' DQ loss overturned

Fernando Quiles Jr. - July 4, 2019

From a promoter’s perspective, Michael Bisping can appreciate Dana White’s desire to have Jon Jones’ lone defeat overturned. Back in Dec. 2009, a young Jones took on Matt Hamill in the co-main event of TUF 10 Finale. This was Jones’ fourth fight under the UFC banner. “Bones” was teeing off on Hamill with some vicious ground-and-pound. When referee Steve Mazzagatti called a halt to the bout, most assumed that Jones scored a TKO victory. Instead, he was disqualified for illegal 12-6 elbow strikes.
