Walker is scheduled to fight Nikita Krylov next March in Brasilia, Brazil in a fight that he needs to win. After getting knocked out in devastating and shocking fashion to Corey Anderson at UFC 244, Walker needs to bounce back with a win over Krylov or else risk getting lost in the shuffle at 205lbs.

Walker is coming off of an upset TKO loss to Corey Anderson at UFC 244 and admitted that he was battling depression heading into the fight. It was a loss that snapped a long win streak for Walker, and since then he’s taken to social media to call out Weidman, who himself is coming off of a TKO loss to Dominick Reyes at UFC Boston.

I don’t have to beat a top 5. People talk too much crap, man. People say I don’t have jiu-jitsu, I don’t have wrestling. They say I have to fight a wrestler. The last wrestler I fought lasted five seconds. I’m ready for him and I know I’d be a big challenge. I think he’s afraid to lose to an unknown guy.”

Johnny Walker is one of the more promising light heavyweight prospects in the UFC. The Brazilian is 17-3 as a pro, and 3-0 in the UFC, with all three wins coming by knockout in under two minutes. Although he is light on experience in the Octagon, the 12th-ranked light heavyweight has his eyes on Francis Ngannou. The 27-year-old says he wouldn’t rule out a move to heavyweight and is confident he would beat Ngannou.
